This was the first scary movie I ever watched. Sleepover at my friends house when I was a young kid and her mom had all of these VHS tapes without the sleeves on them. She picked it up and said "I think this is a farm movie" .... WAS DEFINATELY NOT A FARM MOVIE! Friend fell asleep like five minutes in and I stayed up by myself, eyes wide and glued to the craziest s*#@ I had ever seen. So good though. had nightmares for a year of Anthony Hopkins pulling that skinned face off of his face and it would be another face and another face on repeat until I awoke.
Despite this, I have always had an appreciation for this film. And watching it again as an adult I discovered (obviously) a complexity to the story that I simply didn't get as a child. So good. better than any farm movie I've seen.
