Tom is the youngest of triplets and his two brothers have already found their mates. Tom hasn’t found his mate though because to me he has never really looked for her or dreamt of her. I actually thought he would never hook up with anyone and be the odd man out. Poor Tom!
Thank goodness Terry Spear proved me wrong and Tom ends up meeting his mate when she’s visiting Silver Town. Elizabeth is there to do a job and find out some information on what happened to her parents from a friend. She’s trying to meet up with him, but can’t if the pack members of Silver Town won’t let her out of her sight. Tom is not very excited on keeping a watch on Elizabeth due to his brother wanting him to make sure she does her job and no one interferes. (Because believe me there are several pack members that would love to hook up with the new shifter in town.) Tom though changes his mind, when he sees Elizabeth.
Elizabeth is like no other female character in Terry’s stories though. She’s half wolf and half coyote. I thought this was unique in the story and was intrigued to find out more about Elizabeth. I also found it fascinating when a certain character told Elizabeth what coyotes were related to and which wolf came first (gray or red). I loved Elizabeth’s character at times, but other times she was really stubborn. She didn’t want any help from anyone and she got herself in some messy situations, when she could have just asked for help.Read more ›
Warm, sleek, half coyote, half wolf-gal meets sexy handsome wolf-guy. There's an attempted kidnapping, unsolved murders and mysterious strangers hanging around the town.
Loner, Elizabeth Wildwood, turns up in grey wolf country ostensibly to do a story about skiing at a Colorado resort. She runs into Tom Silver, youngest brother of pack leader Darien. Sparks fly between them.
Elizabeth has connections to the neighbouring Bruin's pack through her father, although she had never been part of it. She's in Silver Town to contact North Redding, a wolf from her past, part of Bruin's pack, who says he has information about her parents' murderers.
As part of covering her story she heads up the ski slopes to take photos. Pausing on the edge of the trail to take random shots of the action, Elizabeth is injured by a stranger who comes out of nowhere and slams into her sending her down a steep incline. Was it deliberate or an accident?
The story flows from here with typical Spear flair. We catch up with old friends from unexpected places. Bjornolf Jorgenson and Anna turn up, and we make new friends. Outcasts come in from the cold, and unresolved relationships flourish.
We are left at the end of the novel with a few possible hints about the future. Newcomers are apparently coming to Silver Town to renovate the old hotel, and just who did Tom and Elizabeth run into at the butchers shop near Elizabeth's apartment who muttered 'Dogs' at
Action packed with great tempo, Silence of the Wolf is a fun fast paced read!
A NetGalley ARC
Tom Silver is brother to his packs alpha and as such it's his duty to protect their grey wolf territory and those in it. Something is not right though and strange wolf sightings are happening and valuable livestock is being targeted. It's possible that it's wild wolves but everything points to rogue werewolves moving into the area. He has enough on his plate without being told to babysit a female visitor but when he meets her something about her just calls to him.
Elizabeth is no ordinary werewolf no she's a mix of red wolf and coyote and has spent her life being ostracised . She has travelled to Silver town to meet up with someone who can help her gather evidence about her parents suspicious deaths but she hadn't expected to be made to feel so welcome! Elizabeth has never met shifters as friendly as those of the Silver pack and Tom in particular looks to be a tasty treat!
Danger is on the slopes though and Elizabeth is in it's path. The Silver territory is beautiful but can be deadly. Can she trust Tom or will he let her down? Elizabeth is used to being on her own but her heart aches to feel wanted. Is it possible for a grey wolf to love a hybrid? Or is Elizabeth's world about to come crashing down?
This is definitely in a class of it's own.Read more ›

Constant whining about her past and a weird, convuloted storyline that makes no sense in the real world or fantasy one. The last 40-50 pages were extremely tedious to get through. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Starlet_21
