Original Silent Feet are the most advanced and effective appliance anti-vibration pads available. They absorb vibrations caused by appliances; this reduces noise and structural damage caused by these vibrations. By using cutting edge polymer technology they also reduce walking without using any adhesives. Original Silent Feet anti-vibration pads have consistently out preformed all other vibration absorbing materials on the market. All appliance manufactures recommend using a pad to absorb vibration from washers; these pads meet and exceed OEM specifications. These pads work on tile, concrete, wood, vinyl, linoleum, stone, and low-pile carpet floors. Use caution on carpet as these pads may cause slight discoloration after extended contact. For deep carpet contact us for options.
These pads are designed to fit all styles, makes and models of top and front loading washing machines. These pads absorb the same amount of vibration as our Anti-Walk Silent Feet, but offer easier installation especially in tight spaces and under counter tops. These pads will raise your appliance by 5/8” and make cleaning under it easier. This set of pads features 2 easy sliding rear feet that allow you to install the rear pads and then slide the machine back into place before installing the front anti-walking pads.
Silent Feet pads feature a new dual material vibration isolation system that reduces even more vibration compared to other pads. They have also been redesigned to offer a more modern and stylish finish while also adding durability.
Original Silent Feet use Sorbothane polymers that are trusted by NASA, NASCAR, The Smithsonian Institute and the U.S. Military. Over the past 7 years, these pads have become famous around the world as the best anti-vibration solution for all appliances. These claim to eliminate vibration, and they do... but understand what they mean by "vibration".
If your washing machine is "vibrating", they mean high-frequency vibration. Think of your cellphone on silent mode. Or maybe the feeling you get when you bump your elbow. For that, they certainly do absorb nearly 100% of it. I can't feel a thing more than 2-3 feet away.
However if your washer visibly *shakes* (oscillation of 1/4" or more) during its spin cycle, these may actually worsen the condition. My washer (LG WM3455HW) doesn't have the greatest internal dampening, even when perfectly level, so once planted on these the high-speed spin cycle shook the floor a little more than previously! Why?
These are made of a heavy gauge "goo". If your washer heaves side to side at all, these "give" more than if it were sitting on the floor directly. They aren't substantial enough to absorb that kind of deflection, so it transfers into the floor anyway. The end result (for my washer) is it shakes side to side more drastically than it did before; and do does the floor
Whether or not that's a problem for you depends on your situation exactly. If your washer actually 'vibrates' this work work great. Otherwise, you may want to check into other solutions.
I purchased these feet to install under my Maytag Neptune MAH8700 front loading washer. My floor is a raised wood floor, but with a firm framework of wood and steel underneath. Before installing these feet, my washer would spin most loads at full speed (1100 RPM), but the vibration noise would often carry to most areas of our one-story home. Recently, our washer had also starting "walking" ever so slightly (1" or less) with the occasional off-balance load. This may be due to aging rubber on the washer's feet. Maytag front loading washers have a pretty high-tech vibration reduction system built in, including spring mounted weights that vibrate in reverse to the washer's vibration, and a vibration detection system that stops the spin and attempts to readjust the load. It will also slow the maximum speed of a spin if it can't compensate any other way.
After installing the feet, the results were immediate and obvious:
1) The washing machine now had about 1/2" more "play room" on each of its four feet. When it went into spin cycle, it shook violently at low speeds. In most cases, the washer would stop, reverse, and tumble the load in an attempt to balance out what it thought was a grossly off-balance load. The washer had no idea that it was on a squishy surface now, and simply did what it was designed to do. It would often have to do this multiple times before it was balanced enough that it could get some sort of spin out of a load. This added about 15 minutes of time to per load.
2) When the washer finally started to spin a load, it never went at full speed anymore, again because it thought that the load was more imbalanced than it really was.
3) During the spin cycle, the machine itself vibrated much more than ever before. This can't be good for the washer.
4) The only positive observation was that, as Vibration Solutions claims, the feet "limit vibration transmission to the structure of your home." It is true that the noise of the spin cycle was greatly reduced in the rest of the house. This one little benefit is not enough to accept the problems, however.
Again, if your application is very different from mine, these feet may work well for you. Buying from Amazon is great because, if they do not work for your application, you can still return them. Best of luck!
We installed a rubber mat and the Silent Feet under the stacked washer/dryer and holy smokes, what an enormous difference it made!! Not only is there almost no vibration (whereas before you could feel the whole floor move), but I found myself checking to make sure the washer was even on because it was so quiet.
I'm so happy with these that I started calling them "Happy Feet" because they make me so happy! I recommend these highly to anyone who has a front load washer on the second floor or not sitting on concrete.
I'm now looking for some hard rubber pads that I can double stick down to the floor and I'll get rid of these pads.
