Hubby wants to purchase yet another internet marketing plan?! It's crazy, all the manuals, workbooks and programs and business cards, etc, that have accumulated over the last 10 years. Silent Sales Machine gives a frustrated wife hope. I'm not one to read internet marketing books, but I completed this one in just a few days. An easy read, embellished with links to real-life success stories, videos and comments from people like us who are searching for genuine guidance, not hype, this may just be the answer I've been praying for! I recommend it to all, but especially for anyone like me-disillusioned. Jim's strategic way of generously sharing his valuable secrets to benefit so many proves the Biblical concept, "Give and it shall be given you", and he teaches others to do the same. That gets my attention. Five stars to a book so engaging, informative and empowering!

The Mindset of an Entrepreneur

I didn't see this book about tactics or even strategy but rather a mindset that one MUST have to be successful as an entrepreneur. It's one thing to quit your traditional job, call yourself the "boss" and start trading your time for dollars...again, but that's what a traditional job is. Silent Sales Machine is about creating the mindset of a TRUE entrepreneur - one who creates ideas and builds a system so they can get done quickly and efficiently without having to do everything yourself. If you are doing everything yourself, your business will ultimately stop growing. Jim and his plan for a Silent Sales Machine help create a business that can not only grow and prosper, but grow and prosper if you decide to put someone else at the helm. That's more than a business, that's a legacy!

On a side note, I HIGHLY recommend the audio version. Jim reads the book himself and adds a bunch of commentary and insight that is not included in the printed version.

We bought version 5 of this book years ago and every edition since. Why? No other author on the planet gets online and offline entrepreneurial-ship like Jim does. Take everything you think you know about entrepreneurial-ship and review it with the knowledge you gain from Silent Sales Machine. I can say with out a doubt, you will change or at least improve the way you do things. Opportunities are everywhere... if you know where to look. Think of this book as your guide to those opportunities. Jim's philosophy of being an entrepreneur is close to 180 degrees from common thinking on the subject. But it works and works extremely well. Get the book and read it. At the very least you will have a different set of glasses through which to view the world.

His audiobook about low-cost marketing was outstanding. I hoped this book would expand the other book's principles. Unfortunately, this book is ONLY for people who sell physical products. I am an author and need help selling books and online training courses.
Despite its very limited value to me, I gave it 3 stars because I agree wholeheartedly with his ethics. I need much more SPECIFIC advice.

Well, after finally reading this book, I think I'm going to have a T-Shirt made with "Please Kick Me Now" on the back of it and wear it for a few months or years. I've had this book on my hard drive since 2008 (in earlier versions) but never read it until Version 9. And, for almost 20 years, I've had a bad case of Shiny Object Syndrome and bought more IM Marketing crap than I can ever remember. Sure, I've made some money but not nearly enough to cover what I've spent. Jim cleared away the cobwebs for me and I will never look back. If this book and the PAC system I also bought in 2012 but had never used don't work, then I'm done! But, I know they will. Everything he teaches makes sense and I know it has worked for many folks.

I was already getting fed up and finally starting to see the light but I was still looking in all the wrong places. I'm actually a very smart person with a high IQ but I learned long ago that high IQ doesn't automatically equal success. I guess I'm living proof!

Best IM book and mentor to latch onto if you are looking for a true online business that lasts.

Great Read For Those Interested In Earning Income Online

I actually found this book by accident in researching another expensive
opportunity for selling on Amazon. As it turns out, Jim (the author) has
a program for selling on Amazon as well -- and it is MUCH cheaper.
Before deciding on doing Jim's Amazon selling course, I decided to get
this book to get a feel for his philosophy. The guy really knows his stuff
for online marketing and I feel he is genuinely interested in helping people
become successful in their online endeavors. It also puts my mind at
ease that his business is BBB Accredited with an A+ (as of the time of
this review).

The book stressed the importance of finding an audience FIRST before making
the sale. Many people create the website first and then go out to find their
customers later. He also covered selling on eBay and Amazon, retail
arbitrage (buying deeply discounted retail to resell), blogging for profit, and
the importance of having an email list of interested followers.

I was impressed enough with this book that I'm planning on buying his Amazon
selling course in the near future. Give this book a read -- well worth the $5 for
the kindle (online) edition!

From the title you may be wondering what this book is all about? Once you've got into the second chapter it will all be quite clear.

Your Silent Sales Machine is what happens when, and after, your potential customers visit your site. It deals with how to communicate effectively to visitors to your web pages or sales letter and the best way to follow up with them and convince them to buy.

But if that was all this book was about then it wouldn't, really, be much different to all the other Internet Marketing books. What makes this book unique is Jim Cockrum's take on the whole business of relating to your customer's needs and requirements, as well as talking to them in a way that they can instantly relate to.

If you've ever been stuck for ideas of how to 'talk' to the subscribers of your email list so that they instinctively trust you and turn to you as the 'go-to' expert then you'll find the most natural way to do it spelt out in the pages of this book. In fact email marketing fills up what is the biggest proportion of this book as, in my opinion, it should do.

What you'll really get from reading this book is how to improve your business by discovering new ways to find and communicate with both potential and existing customers. Throughout the book Jim gives examples from his own background in Internet Marketing as well as quotes from other online entrepreneurs who have successfully used his ideas.

The latter part of this book deals with a variety of online business ideas that you'll find useful if you are either starting an online business or want to expand your existing business. Early on Jim talks about 'multiple "hands free" income streams' and how this has been the foundation of his online success. Quite correctly he then goes on to caution against trying to set up multiple streams of income in the beginning but to take each business idea, one at a time, and fine tune it until it becomes successful before moving on to another.

If there is a fault with this book it is that, by the time you've finished it, your mind will be overflowing with new ideas and you'll probably be wondering where to begin. I'd encourage a second and third reading of the whole book, taking notes as you go along, until you get a clearer picture of what you need to do based on what you want to do.

As Jim points out, what you need is enthusiasm and passion for your business. This book shows you the best way to transfer that enthusiasm to your website visitors and customers.

However, author is suggesting certain strategies how to make money online and then uses the same strategies on the reader (making him follow links, requests readers email and etc.). It seems like the author is making himself as an online money guru who knows every business model and tries to sell courses on each subject he discusses. Book might be appealing to complete newbies of the e-commerce field. For more experienced lot I’d say it’s a waste of time.

The shark-infested waters of Amazon courses are full of people teaching unworkable business models, and glossing over the difficulties. Jim Cockrum is refreshingly different.

Firstly, Jim clearly has many years behind doing and teaching ecommerce, (including Amazon, eBay and Shopify).

Secondly, Jim explains multiple possible business models, including those low risk and easy ones that work for beginners in the Space.

Thirdly, Jim is honest about the challenges of various different models, and the fact that building a business is Work, fun as it may be.

I’ve already read this book twice and will keep coming back to it as a source of wisdom in a space where short-term thinking is sadly the norm.
