On a side note, I HIGHLY recommend the audio version. Jim reads the book himself and adds a bunch of commentary and insight that is not included in the printed version.
Despite its very limited value to me, I gave it 3 stars because I agree wholeheartedly with his ethics. I need much more SPECIFIC advice.
I was already getting fed up and finally starting to see the light but I was still looking in all the wrong places. I'm actually a very smart person with a high IQ but I learned long ago that high IQ doesn't automatically equal success. I guess I'm living proof!
Best IM book and mentor to latch onto if you are looking for a true online business that lasts.
opportunity for selling on Amazon. As it turns out, Jim (the author) has
a program for selling on Amazon as well -- and it is MUCH cheaper.
Before deciding on doing Jim's Amazon selling course, I decided to get
this book to get a feel for his philosophy. The guy really knows his stuff
for online marketing and I feel he is genuinely interested in helping people
become successful in their online endeavors. It also puts my mind at
ease that his business is BBB Accredited with an A+ (as of the time of
this review).
The book stressed the importance of finding an audience FIRST before making
the sale. Many people create the website first and then go out to find their
customers later. He also covered selling on eBay and Amazon, retail
arbitrage (buying deeply discounted retail to resell), blogging for profit, and
the importance of having an email list of interested followers.
I was impressed enough with this book that I'm planning on buying his Amazon
selling course in the near future. Give this book a read -- well worth the $5 for
the kindle (online) edition!

Your Silent Sales Machine is what happens when, and after, your potential customers visit your site. It deals with how to communicate effectively to visitors to your web pages or sales letter and the best way to follow up with them and convince them to buy.
But if that was all this book was about then it wouldn't, really, be much different to all the other Internet Marketing books. What makes this book unique is Jim Cockrum's take on the whole business of relating to your customer's needs and requirements, as well as talking to them in a way that they can instantly relate to.
If you've ever been stuck for ideas of how to 'talk' to the subscribers of your email list so that they instinctively trust you and turn to you as the 'go-to' expert then you'll find the most natural way to do it spelt out in the pages of this book. In fact email marketing fills up what is the biggest proportion of this book as, in my opinion, it should do.
What you'll really get from reading this book is how to improve your business by discovering new ways to find and communicate with both potential and existing customers. Throughout the book Jim gives examples from his own background in Internet Marketing as well as quotes from other online entrepreneurs who have successfully used his ideas.
The latter part of this book deals with a variety of online business ideas that you'll find useful if you are either starting an online business or want to expand your existing business. Early on Jim talks about 'multiple "hands free" income streams' and how this has been the foundation of his online success. Quite correctly he then goes on to caution against trying to set up multiple streams of income in the beginning but to take each business idea, one at a time, and fine tune it until it becomes successful before moving on to another.
If there is a fault with this book it is that, by the time you've finished it, your mind will be overflowing with new ideas and you'll probably be wondering where to begin. I'd encourage a second and third reading of the whole book, taking notes as you go along, until you get a clearer picture of what you need to do based on what you want to do.
As Jim points out, what you need is enthusiasm and passion for your business. This book shows you the best way to transfer that enthusiasm to your website visitors and customers.


Firstly, Jim clearly has many years behind doing and teaching ecommerce, (including Amazon, eBay and Shopify).
Secondly, Jim explains multiple possible business models, including those low risk and easy ones that work for beginners in the Space.
Thirdly, Jim is honest about the challenges of various different models, and the fact that building a business is Work, fun as it may be.
I’ve already read this book twice and will keep coming back to it as a source of wisdom in a space where short-term thinking is sadly the norm.
