I bought these for making egg breakfast muffins and although I love *almost* everything about this product, the silicone leaves a funky taste to the muffins. It ruins them. Maybe it would be different for other uses, but with egg muffins, you’ll want to use a muffin liner with sort of defeats the purpose of buying silicone. Mmh!

The bad - I have to place a tray or rack underneath for stability or it will fold and everything will shift or spill. It is silicone and not metal, so you have to expect this. I have had to add extra cooking time because it doesn't retain heat the way the metal muffin pans do.

The good - Muffins, chocolates, desserts, etc. come out with a push from the bottom. I don't have to add cooking spray, butter, etc. before preparing items. If they are sticking a little, I would just run the handle of a spoon or the backside of a knife around it and they pop right out.

The best - so much easier to clean instead of soaking, scraping and/or using a brillo pad.

I love the bright and cheerful color. While it is true that muffin tops don't puff up into a big rounded crown like they do in metal pans, the muffins taste great and are a good size. I have made both corn muffins and banana muffins in this pan. It is important to remember to put the muffin pan on a cookie sheet before you put the batter into the cups! The muffins pop out easily. I put just a bit of oil in my cups, but I am going to try one without doing that and see what happens. Very easy to clean, too. UPDATED LATER: I made 24 muffins without oiling the muffin pans. 18 of the 24 popped out easily and looked great. 6 of them left a little of the muffin in the cup -- but these were chocolate chip banana muffins and it was the chocolate chips that hit the bottom that did not come out cleanly.

I was making egg-bacon bites in metal muffin pans - no matter how much I greased the pans (keep in mind there is also bacon surrounding the egg) the bites would intermittently stick and the egg overage would stick to the pan and it was impossible to clean - no matter how much I soaked it - I threw the pan away - went to AMAZON looked for highly rated silicone muffin pans (I have never used them before) and tried them. My egg-bacon bites popped out of the cups without any sticking, they were baked through as if I had used a tin muffin pan and the clean up was a breeze! My friend loved the egg-bacon bites when I brought them to work so I gave her the second pan so she didn't have to throw out her tin muffin pans.

I love these muffin pans. I hated making egg muffins in my "non-stick" metal pans because they always stuck, no matter how much Pam I sprayed. These don't stick at all. Just a quick spray and the egg muffins pop right out. The eggs didn't brown on the bottoms, only the top, but that doesn't bother me. The cups are a little smaller than the metal ones but for someone like me who watches portions the size is perfect. There's nothing I don't like about these pans. I like them so much that I gave one of the pans to my daughter-in-law and she is thrilled with hers too.
Needless to say, the old metal pans all went in the trash.
