Product Description

Like the Peace Dollar-issued by the United States Mint after the First World War to symbolize peace and liberty-the Silver Bullet Silver Shield Freedom Girl Proof Round celebrates another great American tenet: Freedom. The pure silver round honors modern ideas of beauty and freedom, while paying homage to the original Peace Dollar. The obverse of each 1 Oz Silver Bullet Silver Shield Freedom Girl proof round was designed by Heidi Wastweet, a contemporary artist known for sculpting strong, modern women.

Pitting, dremel marks, 2nd coin I have opened today. In my opinion, I would skip these and go for a generic round. Or you could just go for a tried and true ASE. Other novelty rounds are available that are very very nice.

For those of you who don't know the history, there is a lot of controversy around the SBSS medallions (the freedom girl is the 4th coin). The mulligan mint is currently minting these without the consent of the guy who worked to create the series. I don't know who is right or wrong in this current fight. It appears that a lawsuit is going to be initiated soon and the mint is still minting these coins. One of the issues is that individuals who have ordered coins from mulligan have been waiting weeks (I mean since like January for delivery after paying up front) They have not been completing the deliveriies of all outstanding orders to individual buyers yet they provide them to some of the online bullion dealers. I bought the first coin (debt and death) and it took 6-8 weeks to get them and the quality was terrible. The second coin was somewhat better but not by much. I didn't even bother to buy the 3rd coin because of the delays and literally dozens and dozens of people were complaining ( you can verify this by going to youtube and searching). The Freedom girl I ordered from Provident metals and it still took me 3 weeks to receive through them. This leads some credence to the theory that the mint is supplying online dealers before completing the outstanding orders. I did finally receive what I ordered and the Mint is claiming they have completed all orders (although I read threads this morning from people who still are saying that haven't received their orders) People who buy online through amazon might not have an issue, but be warned to research more about these coins. I am taking no sides as I do not know who is right or wrong but as a customer it was painful to order and have to wait weeks for delivery
