Instead, read the one before it. I cant remember the darn name right now but it has something to do with surfing?
Anways, this book is a cute read with a spunky reporter and a messed up family! Jonie's family is horrible to her, especially Kimmie and her step mother. I like the ending and all the quarrels that happen but your just going to have to buy the book because i wont spoil it for you!
Daniel is an engima! (I think im using that word right) He blows hot and cold but like i said before, i dont know how he was in the previous book so i cant judge him correctly.
Jason, Gums, Amelia, Ernst, Tony, Tanner, and the handful of other charactars make this book fun and witty!
One problem this book had was the often rambling thoughts or encounterments! 3 pages or so of something or another without any dialogue isnt fun to read in my mind. Other than that, it is a good book and worth reading.
I loved the book Storm Surge by Tamara Ward, so was very happy when I got the chance to read this book. Joni Waters is a feisty journalist who is determined to make a name for herself in Wilmington, North Carolina as a serious journalist. She is funny, yet sincere in bringing a murderer to justice. Her family is so dysfunctional, that I wondered why she even bothered with them and was really disappointed in her father for not being there for her. I really hope in the future books people find out just what kind of person her step sister really is. This book was fast paced and it keeps you changing your mind about "who done it" until the end. I loved the characters, each unique in their own right, which made for a very enjoyable read. I laughed and cried from time to time. In my opinion when an author can bring out those emotions in in a reader...It is a good book
I loved the second book in this series. I love Jonie. She is just so funny. She is not perfect and that makes her seem so real.
I would recommend that you start with the first book in the series because there is much more information about her "family" life. You don't have to read them in order but I think the family history she has explains a lot in this book. The character development is very good.
Her father just drives me crazy. Kimmie - there are no words:)
At any rate this mystery was very well done & the author does a good job of bringing in the extra's (family, etc). I cannot wait for the third & I am going to check out the author's other books because I am sure I will love them!
Just an all over good mystery.
I love a book where I can't figure out who did it. Silver Flashing kept me guessing all the way to the end. The disappearing body in the trunk was extremely interesting. I didn't think anyone had enough time to pull that off.
When Jonie found the money in the wall, I realized she was a better person than me. I would have taken it all. I might have turned it in to the cops, but I would never have left it in its original hiding place without installing cameras to catch the person who cam looking for it.
Oh well, that's one reason why I love Jonie and I can't wait to read more stories featuring the characters.
