But yes the single fab they provide is a low rpm garbage and if you like the case get a fan kit or spend a bit more on a case with better provided fans. I am adding in a 3 pack of Artic y12 to get the airflow better.
I put in a stock cooler 5600g and it's hitting over 90 easy on cinebench stress testing. I am suspecting it's simply a lack of air flow in the case as the stock fan never got above 800 rpm...
are absolutely dead set on its looks and potentially the option of a steel side panel, if that's the case it will suffice for a basic build. Otherwise it simply does not make sense in comparison to cheaper and more practical cases on the market, too many drawbacks and only a single fan make it a bad buy.
To go through a list of the issues:
-only a single rear fan: this is a very suspect deficiency for the R1 in its price class and it doesn't really do anything in build quality or other features to make up for it. You'll have to accept either subpar temps or buy another fan taking the Fara R1 into the $80+ where it obviously makes even less sense.
-flimsy motherboard tray and front intake frame: not terrible at the price point but you can find better build quality.
-front connectors being wired to the removable front panel: This makes building and regular maintenance quite awkward. When installing fans I had to use a paper weight to keep the front panel cover upright lest it fall sideways and potentially damage front panel connectors, also makes cleaning the front panel filter much harder, instead of simply removing and washing it out in the sink you'll have to move the entire pc to dust it. The real problem is that it creates a potential failure state for the case that did not need to be there. The latches locking the panel in place are quite stiff and any one removal could be the time you pull too hard and damage the front panel or worse the connectors on your mobo.
-overbearing cloth mesh filter: While it still has the upperhand over solid panel cases the choice to go with the unusually heavy cloth filter puts it firmly below average in temps compared to other full mesh front panels. It can be removed but you'll need to come up with your own dust solution in that case.
-case's short length and height combined with an inefficient HDD cage makes more than a single 3.5in drive essentially infeasible: The case can reasonably fit a standard atx power supply and a single 3.5 in hdd with the power cables crammed over and around the cage, technically another can be mounted on the top(no rubber screw mounts to ease vibration) but with a standard height drive and a standard non l screw driver it will be near impossible to get an hdd mounted under the power cables.
Again this isn't a terrible case but it just doesn't make much sense next to its competitors, hopefully next time silverstone can match the internals with the look.
