I love this case. I've gone through a few cases (Rosewill TU-155, Sunbeam Transformer, NZXT Phantom, this). I definitely have to say this is the best case I've ever owned. The design is superb and works pretty well, although another exhaust fan wouldn't hurt. It's flipped so your motherboard panels are on the top instead of the back. This is extremely effective since cold air sinks, and heat rises. Basically, the 3 180MM fans at the bottom pull in fresh cold air for your components, and pushes it right out at the top. This also creates positive airflow pressure (more air coming in, than going out), which means less dust.
The metal is pretty thick, it doesn't feel cheap or flimsy. It's well painted, scratch resistant The plastic used is decent quality. It kind of is a dust magnet/fingerprint magnet. But not as much as the Phantom's glossy plastic finish. The frosted piece of acrylic where the blue LED's are housed diffuse the light so it's not annoyingly bright.
The only thing I like better about the Phantom is the cable management. While this case isn't bad with it, it could be better. I wish there was more room on the back side where you hide all your cables.Read more ›
+Meticulously designed details allow for easy cable management and rigidity.
+Style, this thing looks menacing yet minimalistic. It's not ridiculous looking actually placed in a home like most cases
+Internal layout allows for a cleaner look both internal and allows for better cable management both internally and externally
+Fans, those air penetrator fans really do as they claim, my GTX 670 idles at 22C, never before have I seen such low temps
+Build quality, lots of metal and structural integrity
-It wasn't free and didn't get me back together with my ex
I am going to buy another one of these soon as a backup just in case Silverstone decides to take it off the market, I really genuinely like this case that much. I can't think of anything bad to say, if it spontaneously combusts I may consider removing one star.
Since beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, I will leave the exterior case judgment to you. I will say that I prefer the more austere look of the Raven-02e and I question why gold was the choice of the accenting color on the 03. The overall form of the case has been altered as well- Silverstone has shortened the case slightly to reduce size and weight. In this regard, I again, prefer the Raven 02e as the new case appears slightly "stubby" with the reduced form. However, despite the trimming, the case can now support extended ATX motherboards- a feat the Raven-02 cannot match.
The cooling of this case in all my research is almost exactly the same numbers I'm seeing from my Raven-02e- despite having one less 180mm "Penetrator" fan. Depending where your video card lines up in relation to the penetrator fans on the case flooring, the case will do an excellent job keeping the cards nice and cool. If you are able to install your video card above the outside edges of the bottom fans (as opposed to the ball-bearing center) your cooling will be maximized. If you have never used a Silverstone Raven case, you'll want to note that the motherboard alignment allows all of the hot components to expel heat out the top of the case without being impeded or blocked by installed components. This allows the case to employ the aid of physics (heat rises) to clear the warm air from the case. A rather novel idea.
Overall, this is a very good case- especially in it's price range. If you find the exterior appealing, it should be a great fit for your next build.Read more ›
Second, the function. This case is quite flexible, offering up many potential build types. Need lots of hard drives? You can fit 10 full size and 2 SSDs (without adapters). Need 3 graphics cards? Got that covered too. Or, in my instance, want to use a 240mm radiator? Got that covered too, though you won't be able to fit an optical drive and you lose 6 HDD spaces. There is a space to add a fan at the rear of the case, for GPU cooling, and a space behind the motherboard tray to help with HDDs mounted there. Airflow is great, cooling is great, and I'm used to overclocked high-load systems so the noise is actually less than my previous system despite having added 5 non-silent fans. I did replace the stock top 120mm fan (where a 120mm radiator can also be mounted) with the same fans I used for the push on my radiator and the behind-tray exhaust.Read more ›

Best computer case for thermal dissipation, only second to the unibody aluminum version. Great for fitting a nice setup with plenty of space and expandability.Published 3 months ago by Jose Angel Montalvo Rivera
Nice case but no place for a cd tray and the fan cords don't reach far towards the motherboard and I had to buy fan extention cordsPublished 3 months ago by Christopher
