I read the reviews. The only negatives experienced are the slight lag after selecting something, speaker quality and with a few live TV feeds from my cable provider there is a video lock up after a few seconds..The lag is slight for me. With key press sounds turned on, I know the selection is coming. The speaker quality is unimportant because I use earbuds or a bluetooth headset. The live feed TV video freeze is a bit of a bummer. However, quality is otherwise surprising. The keyboard and protective, magnetic case are impressive. Overall video quality is superb imho. I am use to my Android phone with the 6.1 version. The Simbans tablet is android 6.0. There are few features that I miss; one of them is the adaptive lighting along with a short list of other adjustments. The complaints pale when the incredible low price is considered.. I only wish I had bought the version without the keyboard as it is used infrequently and the touch screen keyboard is quite adequate for 95% of what I need. The additional memory might cure my video freezing. Speaking of video, I downloaded about four hours of it from Netflix. I watched nearly all of it with one charge in battery saver mode. I am not experiencing any short battery life and to the contrary it last nearly as long as my phone. My phone takes about 7 hours to charge when under 10%. The Tango takes 4 hours. As for the system crashing, freezing and becoming unbootable. I have experienced none of that. Other than a couple of live TV feeds the tablet never skips a beat. Alas, this is my first tablet. I could be missing something better without knowing what "better" might be. That said, I would recommend this item in one heartbeat.
The only downsides I found were that the battery took longer to charge than my phone so I wish that was faster. Also, when I was using my Chrome browser, I would accidentally pull down the menu (at the top) displaying charge left, etc. I wasn’t sure how to move this to a different side of the screen.
Overall, I would highly recommend this tablet for work, school or pleasure purposes.
Edit, About a month later.
After about two weeks of receiving the tablet the detachable keyboard stopped working. I contacted Amazon technical support. Nothing they said to try worked. I contacted Simbans and the sent me another keyboard. Tracking showed it was sent from Hong Kong. When it arrived it was in a very thin card box with absolutely no protective packing material whatsoever. Fist thing that came to my mind was that they didn't think it was worth the expense of packing material. Anyway, It was DOA. Nothing worked. The power light would not even come on. I contacted Simbans again . They said maybe there was something wrong with the tablet itself. They wanted me to wipe out all my info from the tablet, box the tablet and both the new and old keyboard and ship it to them with tracking. At my expense. To be repaired or replaced at their will. Six weeks turnaround. Or I could pay $30 and they would send me a new tablet. To me that's not right. I paid for a New, Working, Tablet And Keyboard. Not repaired And Not one penny more. I will throw the keyboards in the trash and use the tablet as long as it works. Then I will find another. I guarantee it will not be a Simbans. I will never make that mistake again.
Top international reviews
Anyway I decided to try this tablet -- without 4G or any mobile data -- and after five months it has generally been a success. Yes, there is a "but" coming as you can probably tell, mainly connected with sound quality through the loudspeakers.
However there are so many positive aspects to owning this tablet that I have never regretted buying it.
First the Android 7 is fairly close to unvarnished vanilla Android which is big bonus -- no tiresome bloatware or additions such as Samsung used to have and Huawei still does.
The 2GB RAM seems to cope well with having a few large apps open at the same time, plus a few tabs on Chrome, which is what I tend to do. I have not so far had to consider expanding the 32GB ROM but I do tend to keep music and photos in the cloud, so you may need more storage memory depending on how you do things. The memory should be expandable, if you wish to do it, by using an SD card.
I think a big feature of this tablet is the excellent screen. I have put all the standard catch up apps on the tablet such as iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 etc as well as Netflix and Amazon Video. They all play extremely well and rarely seem to buffer. If you are looking at the screen from quite a short distance, as I tend to do, the ten inch screen really is the equivalent of a big screen experience! ;) In fact, when I return to the big TV screen the colours there can seem quite tame and washed out by comparison!
As I implied above, it's not all plain sailing. I have to say that the sound from the tablet itself, via its loudspeakers, is not good. Its fairly tinny and does not go even adequately loud. I can't say that this has bothered me as I tend to listen through headphones or simply connect a bluetooth speaker. The standard portable Anker speaker works very well with the tablet, and the sound is excellent either through the speaker or using headphones. You have to expect some compromises at the price, and this is the main one I have identified.
I should also mention the weight. I can't recall the actual weight given in the product description, but it might help if I say that it's at least as heavy as the average hardback book. It hasn't really bothered me as I tend to use it around home, or transport it in a weekend bag or suitcase if we are travelling. However I should probably emphasise that this is not at all light and is probably not what you want if you are looking for something for using on shopping trips, in cafes or restaurants and so on. I think I would call it an easy to use alternative to a laptop, especially as this version comes with a keyboard which simply plugs in and then closes to create a handy way of carrying it. Please note the total result, tablet plus keyboard, is even heavier. If you think this might bother you, perhaps examine the different weights of tablet and keyboard on the product page and try out some books or other things with a similar weight.
As you can probably see, this tablet does suit me very well. I have become accustomed to using my own wifi hotspot when travelling to compensate for the tablet not taking a SIM card. It's horses for courses really and depends on your personal preferences. A personal hotspot from any of the standard tech giants turns a phone signal into a wifi signal and it really does work very well as an alternative to having a SIM card in the tablet itself. The hotspot does need a SIM, but there is no need at all to have an expensive contract, or any contract if you use pay as you go (I recommend giffgaff who will send you a free SIM and then you purchase data at very reasonable rates!).
I have no hesitation in recommending this tablet as long as you consider and take into account the various qualfications above. It is a considerable bargain as long as you can live with the compromises mentioned.
Many thanks for reading. Happy to answer any questions!
1. It's just like any typical android. I have been a strong believer in brand names like Samsung but considering this is still an Android I took the risk of getting it and it turned out to be a very good purchase.
2. The keyboard is fully functional. You can write word documents and make up PowerPoint just how you would on a laptop.
3. It has unlocked FM radio service. This means, without using Wi-Fi or data, you can get your local FM radio signals and listen to them right on your tablet.
4. You can customize your tablet as much as you want, backgrounds, ring tones, etc.
Lastly, I would like to mention that the response time is slightly slower than let's say, a galaxy tab but for my needs it is good. I have an older laptop that weighs a tonne so I got this to use in my classes instead of hauling my ancient PC around with me.
The tablet arrived very promptly (ordered 11th December and arrived on the 15th) and I was impressed with the packaging. The box it comes in is very sturdy and when opening this on Christmas Day was impressed with the packaging inside the box as well. It comes with 2 options to charge: via mini usb or via the old Nokia charge point. So far I've only charged this once so far, but has had limited use.
The overall weight of the tablet and keyboard combined is a tad on the heavy side, but most of the weight is the keyboard, and the tablet can be discontected from the keyboard anyway if you just want to use this as a tablet rather than a mini laptop. I like the fact that this is sturdy and the keyboard protects the screen. It also comes with a screen protector as well which is also an added bonus. The weight issue for me is not a problem as I keep it in a carry case that I also ordered at the same time as ordering this tablet.
This is more than a worthy replacement to my Kindle and for the price is definitely worth considering before buying a Samsung or an iPad.
Like i said....this is like having your mobile but on a bigger screen but you can't minimize windows when open which sucks. I wouldn't recommend and i'll see how my father get's along with this.
ETA: I had to add more as I just finished setting this up for mom and was very happy to discover that you can plug a USB mouse in the regular sized USB slot and the mouse works (for those of us who prefer a mouse to a mouse pad). Also, I plugged in my flash drive and was able to access my files from the drive. Why haven't all tablets made use of the regular sized USB drive until now? Simbans is head of the pack with this idea!
ETA (Aug 2019): Two years later and neither of the two Tango tablets are working properly. Internet apps drag or won't load. Regular apps take forever to load and shut down for no reason. Reset to factory settings thinking that would fix some issues but two internet apps opened and then shut down for no reason. Neither of my parents tablets are any good now so I gave my mom my 9 year old Samsung Galaxy 10" which still works perfectly. If I had it to do over again, knowing what I know now, I wouldn't waste my money on these again.
I am now very disappointed as it now will not connect with WI/FI and the ON/OFF switch will not work.
It really has been quite satisfactory and is outside the stated return date. Nevertheless it is pointless keeping the tablet and I will be grateful if you will kindly let me have a returns label. Thanking you. David Holland.

+ My Amazon Fire is getting old and I had hoped the Tango Tab would be a new replacement but no chance.
