This excercise program is great! I don't think any of us realize how much flexibility we are gradually losing as we age. This made me aware of that fact the very first time I tried them.
I usually work morning till night and am on my feet 12 to 14 or more hours. I carry heavy stuff around and it's usually rush, rush, rush. I am definitely not sedentary and I once put on a pedometer for a week to figure out how much I walked and climbed stairs. I averaged about 5 miles a day.
But the constant moving around did not factor in the gradual stiffening of my joints and tendons as I did not bend or stretch or twist and turn my body as the day wore on. And work is not exercise. I found that out when I did the minimum number of repetitions of each of the exercises listed.
I was so out of shape that my joints were popping and painful. Wow! What a wake-up call.
I am now doing them at least once a day and regaining some of my flexibility back. ( In fact, there is a section in the book devoted to explaining how you can continue to make this exercise series an essential part of your day.) They are very low impact so there is no additional stress.
This is a definite must add to your regimen whether you are a semi-couch potato or a person who regularly indulges in any form of training. And they are a great set of warm-ups or stretching work-outs for those more seriously into improving their health.
You should make this a regular part of your life. It is worth the time and effort.
For people that hasn't been active, I think this is a good book to start out with. It's simple circles which helps range of motion. It's a good book.
for a group of movements that felt good to do. Otherwise, it would just be one more discarded system.
Howie Bell's program does feel good as I do it. I'm at an early stage. It will be interesting to see how I
