I was so excited to get this cookbook and flipping through it did not disappoint. I especially appreciated how Jen took the time to advise how to make most of the non-vegan items vegan as well. There are also ways to make many of the recipes but-free as well, for people who may need to do so. Fresh colorful food is now more accessible than before. SGS cookbooks and cleanses are always amazing and flavorful and I can't wait to try everything in this cookbook. I think we are going to try the Tex Mex Breakfast Bowl first! Our maybe the Thai Lettuce Wraps! Too many choices!

I LOVED Jen Hansard and Jadah Sellner's first recipe book Simple Green Smoothies and this one is just as amazing! The photography is stunning and there's easy to follow delicious recipes, with a great variety! I loved the basics section on starting plant powered foods. I found it very informative and done in a very approachable way. I have been following Jen's website for quite some time and I love how her smoothies and healthy lifestyle has evolved into a recipe book like this! I hope there are more to come!

The recipe sections include: Breakfasts, Snacks, Soups, salads, and sides, Main Dishes, Desserts, and Beverages. There is also an informative Helpful Resources section and a One Month Meal Plans. There are so many recipes I can't wait to try, the Simple Marinara Sauce, Maple Raisin Cookies, Baked Apple Crisp in a Jar, Breakfast Toast 6 ways, and the Austinite Tacos!!! They look awesome!

I loved the Seven-Layer Dip recipe and the Taco Lime Salad with Cilantro Lime Dressing!!!! Delish!! I can't wait to go through the whole book and try them all! Next on my list is the Pumpkin Spice Pancakes!! Yummy!

I love Jen's passion for creating a healthy lifestyle for herself and her family, and then shared it with the rest of the world! I applaud what she has accomplished with her simplegreensmoothies website , smoothie app, and Rawkstar Community. I love that Jen is down to earth and filled with such a great passion to not only live a simple, happy, full life but done in a healthy way. I absolutely love Simple Green Meals!! Lots of recipes, many different ideas, I can’t think up by myself very well so this cook book is nice. Pictures are delicious looking and I still like a good cheeseburger, but variety is good too

I know these are for people who love to spent a lot of time cooking. The recipes are doable and great. I didn’t think veggies would take me so long in the kitchen but overall very satisfied and will use this when I have time. Bravo!

I pre-ordered because I am OBSESSED with Simple Green Smoothies. for over 2 years, I have religiously followed that book like a bible along with her blog. This book did not disappoint. Its not JUST a cookbook... its like a blog/self-reflecting/inspiring book that just happens to have tons of amazing recipes. The second thing I love (about both books), the recipes are so easy to follow! I'm not an expert in the kitchen, I need this stuff dumbed down for me so that I don't feel intimidated. There's no fancy equipment, spices, or absurd items needed to create this food! its SIMPLE! The third thing I love - the graphics! They have one amazing photographer on their hands.

I can't rave enough about this book. A vegan or a vegetarian NEEDS this. I am neither of those things, but I can look at almost every single recipe and determine how I would incorporate meat.

Jen explains... don't just go out and buy everything and try to change overnight. Develop good habits! Make better decisions each day and each trip to the grocery store, make a change or two. Nothing about this book tells you to go on a diet, it just encourages more plants to be incorporated in your daily life so you'll feel better and have better overall health! Jen is a normal, healthy looking person, but she GLOWS with beauty and health. That's what I believe would happen to all that follow her ways.

This book is gorgeous - if you collect them for that reason, then you won't be disappointed. But if you also enjoy plant-based eating that is relatable, simple, wholesome, and DEEEEE-licious, then you won't be disappointed either! Every recipe and description was created with the utmost care. You can tell that Jen really loves fueling her body and her passions with healthy food, including tons of veggies. Jen got me drinking a green smoothie almost every day and I seriously LOVE her first book. I've been wanting a book just like this. I'm a busy mom and wife with loads of things to do each day. I don't want to spend all day making dinner, you know? Almost all of the recipes fit the bill of quick, tasty, and healthy. There are a few that look more time-consuming, but worth it! I was so happy to see a big dessert section as well. Everything looks so good! I can't wait to cook out of this every single day!

I just got the book, so I haven't made many recipes yet, but I can say that reading through the book makes me want to cook every recipe immediately. The recipes are relatively straightforward but packed full of different textures, colors and flavors to make vegetarian and vegan cooking seem like the preferred method rather than a sorry substitute for meat. I like the approach of not counting calories but just nourishing your body with healthy plant based meals. While I'm not vegetarian, I see the advantage of reducing the amount of meat we consume both for environmental and health reasons. It's a good entry point if you'd like to find out how to make dairy and meat substitutes such as walnut lentil taco meat or cashew cream, but, if you don't want to go full vegan on the recipes, you can always substitute in your preferred dairy or meat option, and the recipes are still delicious. This book delivers on the goods and will be appealing to everyone in the family.

I am not a vegan or even a vegetarian. But I do believe that whole foods and a diet consisting of healthy fruits and vegetables tends to be better for you. This book has some great meals in it. The pictures are great so you can get an idea of what the meal will look like. Those are a huge plus. There is a wealthy of information in this book and it is a great resource for anyone who would like to look at changing their dietary eating habits.

I was disappointed. I was hoping to find a lot of recipes for greens and green vegetables so I could incorporate more greens into my diet, but was disappointed that this book only has a few such recipes. It may be a good book for healthy eating, but the recipes are not what I was looking for

I was surprised that egg based dishes were labeled “plant powered” (eggs are not). Nacho made with sweet potato slices are not nachos and to me, not appetizing.
I’ve been vegan for 15+ years and none of the recipes appealed to me whatsoever. The book for me, was a waste of money. I’m am avid cook and wasn’t compelled to make anything from the book. I’d rather skip a meal than make anything I saw.

This being said, if you are a vegetarian or part time vegan who wants to eat SUPER CLEAN you may love this book.

I’d much rather eat recipes from the Happy Herbivore books.
