Cumin seeds are great when I cook with anything which takes longer since it will crack while cooking. If adding to any food that I need to warm up then the powder is a better option. Seeds keep the taste better than powder. More iron, calcium and less calories than turmeric, cumin has a very nutty taste. I mix with all other spices on daily basis and add to my meals. One tablespoon of cumin offers 6% calcium which is one of the highest amount of calcium for only 22 calories and 22% iron. Cumin is one of the main ingredients in most Indian Curry Powders.
Fresh has strong smell and taste anything over couple of months old will lose it sharpness and taste as well as nutrients. I never freeze and unfreeze spices since moisture ruins taste and form so purchasing the right quantity is as important as the brand regardless organic or conventional. I consume lots of seeds, nuts, beans, grains, vegetables, etc. and when fresh, food is nutritious and delicious since nutrients give food its delicious taste and that goes for any food in any form so I always purchase my food ingredients in correct quantities from reputable sellers with high turnover. When old or rancid, nutrients are gone and any food item becomes an empty calories with no taste and absolutely worthless regardless of the brand or price, organic or conventional.
I used to consume more turmeric but not anymore since I go for more cumin. Turmeric has very high IF factor and great for knees so any food that gets cumin, it gets turmeric as well. Link provided in the comment section.
I use quite a lot of cumin in soups, stews, even stir fries, so getting it so fresh and (at least when I purchased it here on Amazon) such a great price is wonderful, much less expensive than similar products at my local supermarket. I may even put it on subscribe and save and save even more.
Super product -- highly recommended!
convenience and consistency. Like the squared bottles also. Another value to
me is the labels on the lid since my spice rack holds bottles lying on the sides.
I do not use Cumin very often and do not particularly like cumin.

This is a very good brand of cumin. I add it to most dishes that I prepare: scrambled eggs to slow-cooker greens and beans.Published 20 days ago by Eric E.
