I am very disappointed here because what I was expecting was a full jar of cinnamon sticks ; but what I got was a half a jar instead. Since when cinnamon has become a commodity that the jars can't be filled? I am not sure I want to spend money to return this.

I recently used up and disposed of the last of my old spices. I started with a clean slate and I ordered all Simply Organic replacements. Not a cheap do over but one that was well worth it. The flavor of these spices is amazing. So fresh and bursting with nuances that I wonder how I ever managed without them before! I am delighted and they are all organic to boot! Can't go wrong with these, they are well worth the purchase. I am extremely happy!

(I will be duplicating this review on the other spices I bought, I can't say enough good things about using them but at the point of number 12 or 14 I would simply be repeating myself anyways! Use and enjoy these! They are amazing!)

My son is allergic to corn, and is very sensitive, so he can't even eat food or supplements which contain HFCS, xanthan gum, cellulose, or mixed tocopherols (which are all corn derivatives, or come into contact with corn during the manufacturing process). Cornstarch is used as a declumping agent in all commercial powdered cinnamon, so he hasn't been able to eat cinnamon in well over a year. (It does not appear as an ingredient on the label because the addition of cornstarch happens during processing of the raw ingredient.) These cinnamon sticks were suggested to me as being corn-free on a corn allergy group, so I bought them. I put them in my food processor to grind them up into a powder.

My son does NOT react to this cinnamon!!! :) I am so happy!! He has been able to enjoy cinnamon on his oatmeal and sweet potatoes for the first time in over a year!! I'm very excited for him, and he loves the flavor.

Highly recommend this product.

When my friend said to me, "you're not using freshly ground cinnamon?", he made it sound like it was a crime. Yes, I use cinnamon powder when a recipe calls for tablespoons of it. Lord knows I'm not going to physically grind up tablespoons of it; that would take forever.

My general rule is: if a recipe needs cinnamon, use powder; but to dazzle your dinner guests, use these cinnamon sticks as a finishing touch. Example: if you make a cheesecake, grind these sticks up with a microplane (zester) in front of your guests, and they'll be very impressed. I use it for presentation purposes, or when something requires just a hint of cinnamon.

You get a full bottle of sticks and the expiration at the bottom says it will last up to three years. Recommended.
