About this item
- ORGANIC CEYLON CINNAMON - Nothing but pure, organic, ground Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum). No GMOs. No ETO (considered carcinogenic by the EPA). Non-irradiated. Certified Organic by QAI. Kosher Certified by KSA. So good, it was voted "BEST" Ceylon Cinnamon by Epicurious in 2018.
- DELICIOUS AND VERSATILE - You want "true cinnamon"? This is it. You’ll know Ceylon by its complex yet nuanced flavor. Ours is spicy in the true sense — but, with its 1% to 1.6% oil content, the flavor is mild and delicate. Comfortingly warm, not hot. Fruity, almost apple-cinnamony, floral and nectar-like, but only lightly sweet. It’s that complex. Its aroma is equally distinctive, with hints of floral and citrus complementing the warm-spicy notes.
- PURE AND POTENT FLAVOR - Simply Organic believes in pure and potent flavor grown at the source. Our rigorous standards mean that we know precisely what you’re getting, and from where. All of our products are grown and processed without the use of toxic pesticides, irradiation, or GMOs.
- SOURCED FROM SRI LANKA - Simply Organic ceylon cinnamon is sourced from a long standing co-op partner in Sri Lanka, where we help select and develop the product. Close relationships with suppliers allow us to actively engage in sourcing and ensuring that production is environmentally friendly and yields high-quality ceylon cinnamon.
- ABOUT US - Simply Organic is a 100% certified organic line of spices, seasoning mixes, and baking flavors. Our pure, potent spices, seasonings and extracts bring real bite to everything you make, eat and share. Our goal, through our Simply Organic Giving Fund, is to help the millions of food insecure by not only providing funds and support to make organic food more accessible, but also in developing the next generation of leaders in sustainable and socially just organic agriculture.

Product Description
KEY FEATURES: Simply Organic Ground Ceylon Cinnamon is potent, “true” cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum). It has a more complex, and yet more delicate, flavor profile than the more common cassia cinnamon. Its fruity and slightly sweet taste and warm, spicy aroma won us "BEST" Ceylon Cinnamon by Epicurious in 2018. Our Ceylon Cinnamon’s mild flavor is especially suited for finer desserts with subtle flavors that will allow this cinnamon to shine, such as a chai spiced crème brulée. It’s also ideal as a finishing spice, so add it to French toast and sprinkle it on your hot cocoa. Ceylon is the type of cinnamon traditionally used in Mexican cooking, where it's found in such diverse fare as chorizo sausage, rice pudding and beverages. This Ceylon cinnamon powder’s texture and flavor also make it a great spice to include in apple compote, ice cream, pancakes and crepes. This product is packaged in a clear glass jar, so you can see what you’re getting. Bottle and metal cap are fully recyclable — and reusable. SMALL FARMER PARTNERSHIPS: Simply Organic Ceylon Cinnamon is sourced from a long standing co-op partner in Sri Lanka, where we help select and develop the product. Close relationships with suppliers allow us to actively engage in sourcing for both our Ceylon and Vietnamese Cinnamons. (Ceylon and Vietnamese cinnamon are different botanicals with very different flavor profiles — so check out both of them!)

I used a generous amount, but was pleased the bottle was still almost full. (I'm glad I didn't buy a full pound that it would take 3 lifetimes for this non foodie to use.) It contains all the great health benefits cinnamon is known for, so I feel good about that, and this brand had the climate change sticker on it (at the time I write this,) so I know sustainability is built into their practices.
Overall, I'm totally pleased! Ethics, amount, cost, ease of use (4/5, see note), and overall flavor make this purchase well worth it!
*Little tip, when you are taking the white protective circle that is temporarily between the glass and the plastic (so cinnamon isn't falling out,) don't rip it all the way off. I leave half the white circle intact. This way I'm better able to control what comes out. And to use the pour one, I just turn the plastic part or take it off and put it on the way I need it.

CINNAMON APPLESAUCE can be made by taking a batch of apples,18? (Thats a made up number. You can make it with 4 or 44, its up to you and how much you want to have made, any varieties besides "Delicious" will work.) You can peel or leave them be, I like it both ways. Cut in half, then begin removing seeds, stems, and other riff raff with a melon baller and a knife. Then you can cut them into chunks. (I do 8 regular slices then cut them in half in the middle.) Next throw the apple chunks in the crock pot on high add 1/4 c. Water (or none if you want it thicker, more if you want it thinner, but you can always add water later.) Add several generous shakes of cinnamon. At 2 hours mush it some with a fork or spoon (I used a ladle.) At 3 hours mush chunks more, at 4 hours you may be done! I mushed a little more, added some more cinnamon and was set. If you like it less thick, just add water in 1/4 cup increments and stir. If you don't like chunks you may put it in a blender or food processor or use an immersion blender. Feel free to add raisins (at the start) if you wish or substitute half pears. And if desired add any type of sweetener you'd like. I may try a bowl with monk fruit* sweetener or xylitol* for their low glycemic index, but both are Fatal to Dogs. I also am fond of Splenda, agave, honey, maple syrup or brown sugar (among others.)
*These sweeteners, along with several others are fatal to dogs even in small amounts, as are raisins. Exercise extreme caution when using around fur family. This is not a bowl fido can lick.

I bought this Ceylon Cinnamon for both my husband and I after reading about the health benefits and the claim that it's much better than the regular cinnamon (cassia) you find in the shops.
I like the smell very much of this Ceylon Cinnamon. I think it tastes amazing. I put it on my oatmeal, also in my fat free/sugar free yoghurts too.
I am trying to lower cholesterol and Blood pressure.
I love that this brand is organic too. I think it's worth paying that little extra for the quality, flavor and health benefits.
I wish I could find this in the stores but I've never seen it on the shelf.
I will continue to buy this.
it practically disolves, unlike the the TJ's i've been using for past 10 years.. just wish I discovered this sooner!
...and definitely worth the extra $
