You have to be careful when buying old PC games like these online because they might not come with the booklet that had the code on it. This one did not, but I bought this to replace the current Bon Voyage I had that wasn't working, so I had a code already. Otherwise this would have been a waste of money. So glad it worked for me though!!

Bon Voyage expansion pack was released in 2007, now being 2014 I was still kind of leery about downloading this to my laptop. My laptop uses Windows XP, I didn't have any issues with the downloading or any effect with my DVD player. However, having only Sims season, this expansion deleted a lot of my custom data, why I don't know.
I was so excited to send my sim families on vacations! Got the disc and immediately started to play. However, after the first night of about 2-3 hours game play I became bored. Most of the vacation spots are so basic and boring, my sims didn't stay overnight it was so boring. I would have loved to have more interaction like surfing, games or rides or something geesh.
I don't love it but I like it, I have to admit I enjoyed the seasons pack a lot better! Still, a very fun game that people of any age can play and become crazy addicted to.
Also, is it me or does anyone else's sims seem to have their own unique personality in the game? I have my sims game on free will and sometimes I just watched them interact, it can be very funny and entertaining!

I usually don’t have trouble buying used games from other buyers on amazon. A couple issues with this one. The first one was there was no installation code included with this, the little book that’s also the manual. Luckily in 2020 people will share their code on google if you look it up. But then I couldn’t complete installation due to a crack in disc 1. I think I paid $8, but it’s $8 wasted.

Overall, this is a good game to have for anyone who likes The Sims.
BV adds vacation destination neighborhoods to your game, and your sim can book a flight and travel to these locations, choosing to stay at a hotel, a campground, or a private vacation home (these can be purchased with a phone or computer). There are three different places you can go on vacation, a mountain retreat, a tropical island, or the "far east" which is asian themed.
Sims can now build beach homes and businesses and go to the beach to comb for seashells and other treasures, sunbathe (tan or burn depending on the sim) or swim in the ocean. There is also a "dig for treasure" option and sims can dig up anything from worthless bones and rocks to maps, expensive art, or even treasure chests.
BV includes some good design tools and objects as well, and there are a lot of surprises.

The cover and descriptions look promising. We can build beach lots, but that's about all the fun I received out of this expansion. Never mind the fact that the island maps are so varied that certain lots only fit on certain neighborhood shorelines, Sims can now build sandcastles and swim in the ocean.
Bigfoot? Mysterious instructor? Witch doctors? Tour guides? Fun the first time or two around, but after that, it gets old. If you play a lot of different Sims, you'll have to keep bringing them to the three respective islands and have them master the local gestures and visit the same three creatures over and over.
I do enjoy the new items (hammock was one of them) and Bon Voyage adds pagoda roofs along with new furniture, but really? I felt like this expansion was a major letdown.
I bought it used for $7.99 and I feel it's still not worth it.

Very fun expansion pack to have that allows your Sims to go on vacation to three different locations: the beach/resort, mountain lodge/ski, & the Far East/exotic. It's really helpful that it comes with an option in the settings to force the clock to 12 hours instead of 24 hours (military time) since one of the other expansion packs messes with your clock. Using the Force 12 hour clock setting is much easier to do than the other way around!

Don't listen to those other reviewers. There are no bugs in this game. Securom will not harm your computer. There is no launcher, and there are no online features. The game will not be corrupted by installing this expansion pack. It does not lag unless you have a computer that can't handle the game. It will not make you uninstall your previous expansion packs.
The game runs perfectly fine. It's a very fun game.

Regret buying

I absolutely looooooove the Sims 2, and all of its packs.. however now I regret buying due to the fact it won’t play on my computer at all anymore. I just regret spending my money on another copy without knowing it wouldn’t work first.

:3 Merci !
