There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
First off, there is no way to display all the objects that are supposed to be found. I upgraded from Starry Night Enthusiast to the Pro version just for see all the NGC objects on a specific night, but no way, the objects are always filtered out. And if you ask according to which principle, the author doesn't say it.
Number two, the date displayed in Advanced Find changes *every time* you use it, it's incremented by one day every time.
Number three, and most unacceptable, if you want to filter objects according to their altitude on the sky, the filter doesn't work. I got in touch with the author, but he didn't answer. I then sent him another email after one month, and finally I got a reply. Unfortunately his reply was ridiculous: it works only if
1) the night is just tonight
2) the time set is very limited, say 10 minutes (and not the entire night)
3) the clock of the program is set to the same date.
In other words, there is no way to check which objects there are above say 40 degrees on a specific night. Only tonight, and as I said not even the entire night. What? This is totally useless.
And of course the manual doesn't say anything about all this.
So, I paid a lot of money not have what was promised. The support is bad, he didn't give any answer about the second issue I mentioned.
And finally if you search "Starry Night Pro buggy" you will find several people mentioning that this piece of crap has problems. For example one person says "The problem right now is that SN7 is new and still has bugs". Well, that was in 2014, after three years is still has bugs. Somebody else says "But even the most updated 6 is not bug free." Again, version 7 is also buggy, in fact another guys says: "I purchased SNP 7 Pro today, and it is buggy as hell."
I could continue, but I guess this is enough.
I regret I bought this program. Definitely not recommended.
