This very peculiar story of love and loss was quite captivating. This second in series novel explores an HEA for Adalia's tortured brother Theo and her life hardened best friend, Violet. The layers are peeled back and we see what makes these two damaged souls tick. It is painful in parts and transcendent in others.
The gambling house takes center stage as a drunken evening meshes the two protagonists into working together to solve a problem instigated by Theo.
I look forward to the next installment in this series.
What drove him away from his only love, Violet? What did he suffer because of this? What did Violet have to go through? Would they ever find their way back to each other?
Who wants Violet dead and why? What horrors will she face? Will Theo be able to save her? How does Theo's sister help them?
I highly recommend this book as well as the ones before it. The complete series is exceptional! I received a pre-release copy of this book and this is my honest review of it. However I loved this story so much I just had to get it, I hope you do too.
