Murder on the Vine, anyone?
April 23, 2012
Sorry, bad pun in the title but I couldn't resist.
"Sinfadel" is a pleasant book, good lightweight summer reading. There were enough plot twists to keep everyone on the suspect list, and the aspect of knowing wine types through their leaf structures was interesting. I would have liked a bit more on the viviculture aspect, but perhaps anything more technical would put off a general audience. The romance implication is obvious from the beginning. I am grateful to the author for not turning it into a gushy romance or, worse, a bodice ripper. It's a detective/crime story and stays nicely within its genre.
