Piper was a scholarship student at an Elite Philadelphia prep school, however after graduation, her mother falls ill and Piper finds herself caring for her mother with no prospects of college or advancing her dreams of dancing. Looking to make a new start after her mother's death, she moves to Las Vegas, but instead of dancing, to make ends meet, she finds herself stripping instead. When Piper is coerced by her best friend to return to Philadelphia to attend their 5 year reunion, a sequence of events transpire that will change everything Piper has wanted to believe about people and relationships.
This was an interesting journey watching Piper navigate through the world of elite socialites and trust fund babies, but a good chunk of the journey just didn't ring true. Someone who was smart enough to get a scholarship and spoke at least two languages with a supportive and rich best friend doesn't usually gravitate to stripping to advance her dreams of dancing one day. Her choices and pride, or lack thereof, are what put her into situation after situation and she demonstrated a negative amount of self-preservation that made it extremely difficult to feel bad for her. Additionally, there was a very confusing scene which apparently was just neglect on the author's part where Piper goes to a chic restaurant as part of her boyfriend's apology because she's never been and wants the experience, but she HAD just been at the restaurant with another boyfriend who took her there to apologize just the installment before. I actually said "seriously?" out loud. Regardless, I enjoyed the HEA and at the end, it was the Hero alone that made this story.
man. The erotic scenes were fantastic. So really and believable. Awesome read !!!
