Chelle Bliss starts the ALFA PI series with a BOOM, BANG, POW!! This was an electrifying start to something new, suspenseful, hilariously funny and sensually sexy!!

Morgan DeLuca, you big freaking sweetie!!
He’s an alpha through and through with a side of bawdiness, and a dirty mouth just like the Gallo men. He’s also soft as a teddy bear and his ‘my mother is always on my back, but I love Fran DeLuca’ was proof of just that! One decision changed the course of his life and resulted in him having only two options. He makes a choice which ultimately changes him into the reformed bad boy we meet.

Franny, my God, that woman kept me laughing every time she was in a scene. I absolutely adored her and her mothering skills when it came to Morgan. She is a mother bear for sure, and relentless when it comes to her only child. I have never read a book where I said to myself I wish the character’s mother were my own… UNTIL now! So Fran, you have been claimed! You are my #BookMother and I love you something fierce!!

Race True. you sassy freaking pants!!
Her name alone is a walking lady boner for sure!! She’s a blonde haired, green eyed, feisty vixen who captures Morgan’s attention at first sight. Add in her spitfire attitude, one that reminded me of Izzy, and her character completely captivated me!! One accident and heartbreak turned her into a cut-throat businesswoman with a slick tongue, and who is very much closed off.

Where Morgan was open, Race was an enigma, and it was like a breath of fresh air experiencing the roles reversed. Their attraction is instantaneous. Their connection magnetic, while their banter was all consuming!! It was instant, and it was raw. Everything about them felt so real that you didn’t question their feelings.

I'm so, so, so very sorry. I see all the 3, 4, and 5 star reviews. I LOVED the cover.

These are supposed to be people in their late twenties, yet their speech patterns and reactions are those of teenagers.
Race True (Really?), in one chapter confesses to not having a single friend. Then, lo and behold, we meet Cara, her bff in the next chapter.
Overuse of the word, "as". As in (pun intended) almost every freaking sentence.
Over-reactions without transitional phrases to indicate a shift in mood. Especially from both protagonists.
Emotional attachment occurring before the two protagonists have really gotten to know each other. I don't have a problem with love at first sight, but this was LUST at first sight, which I felt. Not enough evidence shown to warrant Morgan wanting Race at his side at a Sunday dinner as early in the story as he did. (34%)

I so badly wanted to like this story, that I actually did something I'd never done before: I wrote down example after example of the things done incorrectly. I had to keep re-reading passages to make sure I wasn't being ridiculous. I even stopped reading and went back to Amazon to double check the reviews, thinking I must have remembered incorrectly as to how many good reviews this book had received.

I really wanted to love this story. There's potential, but the abovementioned items has removed any interest I had in finishing the story. I don't even care who's the antagonist.

I'm obviously not willing to accept sub-par writing and proclaim it brilliance. I'm so sorry.

Based off this rating, I would like to make it known that I didn’t hate nor did I love this book. My thoughts veer towards the fact that Sinful Intent, was an enjoyable read, it wasn’t really my cup of tea, so it was hard for me to connect to it.

Sinful Intent is the second Chelle Bliss book that I’ve read, and I really hoped that my dislike of certain qualities of her writing was isolated to that first book, sadly it wasn’t. In no way am I slamming on the authors’ ability to story tell because this author can definitely tell a story, it’s just not done in a way that I enjoy reading.

Morgan’s character was so bland to me. To be honest most of the characters, with the exception of the mothers, were bland to me, nothing unique stood out to me about them except that they all like to have sex in particular places and ways. It’s funny that even the sex scenes were even bland to me.

Race’s character irked me something fierce. Who wants to still try to run the show when you’re forced to go receive help from P.I’s because you’re being blackmailed and you can’t find the culprit on your own? Race that’s who, and that TSTL (too stupid to live) moment very much solidified my complete dislike of her character. Race’s character didn’t add up, I felt that she was supposed to be portrayed as a tough, independent corporate woman but she just came off as a brat and irritating. She was very unlikeable and I almost felt sorry for Morgan (almost because he chose to continually be in her face) because of how irritating she was before circumstances came along and she got her head out of her butt.

Enough about the negative. The one thing I am grateful for is how steady the story flowed, and the cover of this book (which was hawt!).
