Before Sinful Surrender, I admit, I never before heard of Houston Havens. Man, I was missing out on one fabulous, kinky, multi-layered author. I say multi-layered because she had the ability to bring the heat, in and off the battlefield. For me, this book was a combination of Terminator (robots - battles), Divergent/Insurgent(different class of people), and 50 Shades of Grey - if 50 Shades was about 1000 times kinkier. Maybe a million. Sorry E.L. James but, between you and H H, Houston wins the "Panty Pleasing" award. ;)
This is a wonderful, gritty, post-catastrophic dystopian world that the author has created. I was leery of reading a book set in 4860. I feared it would be impossible to connect to, being so far into the future. Man, was I wrong! The author weaves multiple existences like a master! There are at least 5 different types of situations going on and it flows seamlessly. They all make sense, they are all different, based on who they apply to, and it is very believable. I loved this book... Now, this book is very sexy and hot, but the suspense in the story is just as incredible. This is an awesome adventure to read, and I can't wait to see what happens next! The end of the book will have you screaming at the pages! This is one amazing adrenaline ride from start to finish. I am looking forward to reading more about this fascinating world Houston Havens has created.
5 stars Wow this book was amazing!! It was easy to keep up with everything and what's going on with the story line and plot. At the beginning I thought was going to be confused with all terms with new world stuff but I wasn't. You can feel all the emotions in every character. That's big deal with me.
Fay she was awesome even though she was clueless about everything. She was very passionate and lovable and funny. And she had freaking awesome power mind traveling.
Logan, Drakker and Arlo holy Toledo. All of them dominate men. Houston I love this book you did amazing job!!
This wildly captivating novel blew me away with the vivid and oh-so-real descriptions. Heat and spice vie with action, intrigue, and betrayalin this one of a kind novel. Havens ramps up to a very action packedand suspenseful ending that leaves you wanting & needing to knowwhere the series will go next. This is definitely a SciFi/dystopiantale like no other. The well-developed history of the world putseverything in context. Readers not only know what's happening now, buthow it came to happen. The various factions and organizations arebrought forward in a very complex yet revealing manner. I reallyappreciated the prologue of this novel. It really set things up for me, allowing the story to take off from there.
The variety ofdifferent peoples that we meet are not only well-developed as races butare completely unique. Havens highlights the differences between them, but let's their similarities bring them together. Top this off with afantastic cast of characters and you have something that you won't soonbe able to forget. The contrasts between the main characters adds agreat deal of conflict and depth to the story. It also packs anemotional punch and makes them seem even more real.
This is so much more than just a racy story, even though it definitely is that. Iwould give anything to be as imaginative and articulate as this author. I definitely can't wait to read more of her work in the future.

Fay is a very cool character. She can mind travel and while doing it notices things aren’t as the UG (underground Government) say it is. Being the obstinate and stubborn woman she is, she goes on a fact finding mission. I also think she secretly hope to find her own ménage! Lol I love how she opened up to sex pretty quickly even when her mind said it was immoral her body wouldn’t let her give the men up.
Arlo is a romantic and so cute. Though I did think him to be the most naïve of the brothers. He wouldn’t even entertain the idea that she could be a spy until she admitted she was. Drakker is the alpha male who is into a little light BDSM. That fit his character perfectly but he oozed this “Dom” quality. I would take his idea of interrogation anyway. lol Logan was my favorite and I think it was because I know the harder they resist the harder they fall at the end. He fought his feelings in the beginning but when Fay got hurt I could see his act.
Wow talk about hot! These character radiate sexual tension and then when they finally come together it is explosive! I like that all three of the men had different needs. Arlo was the most “vanilla” but I say that as a general term because a ménage is far from vanilla. Lol Drakker is the dominant one who enjoys bondage while Logan is the voyeur. It made the sex scenes have a different depth than other books I read.

Drakker, Arlo and Logan are three brothers who find themselves with a woman who stirs passion in each of them but they aren't sure they can keep her or trust her when they realize she's a Dirt Dweller spy.
Whew, this was a hot, sexy read. Cold shower reading material right here.
Fay is wary of her government because she finds out they have been lying about their past and sets out to find the truth about the airborne people. She can see things and thinks her government might not be the good guys she thought they were. She's been spying on the airborne people for her government and when her aircraft crashes she is at the mercy of the airborne people.
What follows is an adventure filled with passion, heartache and some of the hottest foursome sex I've ever read.
I found Fay's world to be very cold. Their rules about sex not being about pleasure and only about reproduction were very strange. Their people would perform exorcisms on people who got caught saying that they felt lust of desire and that made for a very innocent and pure society of people when it came to sex.
At first I thought that Arlo and Drakker were going to be the only brother's to really fall for Fay, but Logan soon showed his sexier side. This might be the first book I've read where there was a 4 way menage. Not that I'm complaining. Each one of them are sexy in their own way but get the four of them together and you are in for a very sensuous and sexy ride.Read more ›
I am in awe of the creativity, imagination and genius this author has to have. She was able to create not only a physical world with its many layers but the societies that sprung up within those physical boundaries, tied together by a shared (and sometimes hidden) history that impacts all that must happen going forward. She created a current reality so enticing that this reader is eager to return but she also created a history for each facet of her world and has intertwined them in a complex and compelling way. Can the characters discover the truth of their past in order to have a future? This question occasionally runs through my mind as there is a mystery in this story that wants to be solved and teases the reader even when away from the book.
Logan, Drakkar and Arlo came alive to me as I read this book. They became people who's lives I care about. I followed along on their search for the truths they needed to survive. I marveled at the depth of their love for each other as brothers and their ability to understand each other's mind and actions, even preparing what to say when one (predictably) started a conversation about trust, betrayal or Fay. Fay seemed to be the one thing they had difficulty agreeing on, perhaps even the one thing that could drive them apart. No matter what they said or felt, they all knew she was somehow a part of their shared destiny.
I hate reviews with spoilers so I can't say much else other than I LOVED this book, these characters and this interesting world. I want to go back and find out what happens next! I want the next book SOON,
