I have read many of Denise Swanson's books and am excited to hear when a new one is being published. This book is more sexually explicit than previous books but the sex is an integral part of a loving relationship. It is a beautiful romance, with the complex characters, intriguing story, and attention to detail I've come to expect in her books. If you haven't read any of her books, you're in for a real treat. This will not be your last! If you're already a fan, you won't be disappointed!
Nico is a very talented, very hot chef, looking for additional money to get his own restaurant up and running. He also has baggage. He doesn’t trust people, doesn’t let them get close.
Deanna is given the job of going to the restaurant Nico currently works at to taste his food, get a sense of his management abilities, and gather any info she can on him. When she only takes a couple of bites of the multi-course meal sent to her, he goes out to see what the problem is. He is intrigued by her, but manages to offend her and walk away. Once she leaves, he can’t get her out of his mind.
This is a sweet romance of two people learning to trust each other. Both are harboring secrets. They slowly begin to heal each other. Some steamy sex scenes, a little angst. Overall a sweet, fun, quick, easy read. This is my first book by this author. I would definitely read more of her books and look forward to the next in this series.
I received and voluntarily reviewed a copy given to me by NetGalley and the publisher.
