Editorial Reviews

"Sinfully Mine is a panty melting blend of angst, heartbreak, sex and romance. Reece is devastatingly sexy, Macy is pure sass, and the story will make you squirm in your seat while craving more. Forbidden love with a twist of BDSM equals heat overload and a whole lot of fanning yourself. For the record, Reece is mine." Rachel Brookes, bestselling author of the Breathe series

Ahhhhhhh! Reece, Reece, Reece!!!! Sweet, sinful Reece. Gah!

This man.

I love him with the kind of love that borderlines fanatical! He's something else. Another dimension. He's so broken, so intense, but also so soft and sweet. It's a beautiful and dynamic paradox. It makes me shiver. As I was reading Sinfully Mine, I felt myself falling. I was at the edge of a cliff and I tumbled head first into a full blown love fest. He took ALL of my senses and put them on high alert. It was amazing. I really and truly can't explain it.

After reading and adoring The Gentleman Mentor, I was a buzz with what was going to happen in this book. I had huge expectations. HUGE. The sneak peek at the end of Hale's novel was such a tasty and tantalizing morsel, I knew I had to get my hands on Reece and Macey's story. And I had to do it soon. It was going to be good, I just knew it.

What I didn't know was that Reece was so much more damaged than Hale. That caught me off guard. I'm not sure why, but he was so much deeper than I initially thought he was. He's tortured by a broken heart and that heart has been closed off, afraid to make any emotional connections with woman. He's living life but not really living. He throws himself into work and he's a hell of a business man. He doesn't take on submissive's. He does scenes at Crave, has hookups here and there, but for the most part, he keeps him self alienated from the world. **Ah, my heart. My Reece.** He exists like that until Macey shows up.

Macey's appearance shakes him to the core. It's been six, long years since they've seen each other. And time hasn't healed old wounds, if anything it's just caused them to ooze silently. During their time apart, Macey's changed. She's not the same girl Reece fell in love.

I did not like it. I do not understand how the main guy would share his girl. Sorry if I spoiled it for you but that is exactly what happened. Even worst yet is that the girl agreed to it because it would make him happy! How is this possible? No, no, no...this is just so wrong! I do not recommend this book. Unless you are ok with your love/lover being shared.

It’s quite possible that I should have waited till my book hangover from the Gentleman Mentor was truly cured before giving this a try. I wanted to love Reece just as much as I loved Cameron, but I’m a bit disappointed. To give you an example, I just had to go back to the book to figure out his last name and I just finished this book 2 hours ago. He didn’t leave the best impression on me and it’s because his character wasn’t developed well at all. We didn’t get a good description of what the overall Reece is about. Let’s not even get started on Macey. I didn’t connect with her at all, she was nothing special. The author didn’t really make it easy to see why Reece fell for her. I very rarely leave bad reviews and I hope this doesn’t come off as a bad review because all in all I didn’t dislike the book. It was a short book so it went by really quick which is great. I do have to say, the best parts of the books were where Cameron and Brielle made an appearance. Now for a little praise, the style of Kendal Ryan as a writer is great. There’s very little grammar issues and her imagination is very vivid. She knows how to take you into a sexual scene very well and get you worked up by the words. Not many authors know how to do that! I would recommend reading this book if you loved Cameron and Brielle as much as I did.

‘We worked as a good team, even back then. And I’m wondering if we still do.’ ~Macey~

Minor spoilers alert!!!

This was another winner! Macey and Reece’s love story was full of vicarious thrills for me.

Flashbacks – I’m a sucker for teenage or second chance romances, so the flashbacks of Macey and Reece acting on their secret teenage attraction were like catnip for me.

Dom/sub element – I knew nothing about this really until last year when another favorite author had sex clubs featured in one of her novels. What more I learned in book 1, The Gentleman Mentor (Lessons with the Dom), was expounded on further in this sequel. The practice definitely comes off as curiously sexy and fulfilling in a way that I can only comprehend in a fictional reality. I can’t imagine myself doing any of it, but it was fun being in people’s heads who were exploring their limits in such a manner.

Friendship – Reece and Hale’s long-time friendship plays a very important role in the story and ultimately added another layer of complexity. Cameron Hale and Macey Hale really leaned on and came to value their friendship with Reece after the tragedy they faced as teenagers. I also really enjoyed the girl chats between Macey and Brielle as they sipped yummy sounding peach Margaritas. Oliver and Chrissy were intriguing supporting characters and friends of Reece whose friendship and advice were pivotal in certain moments as well.

Dual POVs – I liked being in both Macey’s head and Reece’s head as they attempted to just have a bit of fun with each other without getting hurt again.
