It really helped and still helps me to get my life back on track after a recent divorce and a heart break afterwards.
I finally focus on myself for a change, even that it is really hard to do.
This a very challenging book to apply to one's life. Especially us woman, we tend to not want to be alone and single, like there is something wrong with that. But it is worth to wait for the right man who will not bring us down but will build us up as a person.
PS: I am busy listening to another one of the author's book -> I've Never Been to Vegas, but My Luggage Has: Mishaps and Miracles on the Road to Happily Ever After
For years I have been battling with thoughts of...Why am I not in a relationship? Why am I different to all the women who seemingly easily find everlasting love, when I know for sure that they are no less crazy, high maintenance and self-assured then me...So the WHY is always the BIG question.
Many Hale expresses a light hearted, comforting and hopeful explanation, making me feel as though being single is just as odds related as playing bingo, or winning a raffle...timing, luck, fate and so many other veriables play their part.
It's just something that if opportunity of love comes along then we enjoy it and consider the other person, but in the end, it does not define us to be married, engaged or someone's 'partner.'
In this case 2 heads are not better than one if the other head is not everything you need to be part of a complementary and long standing relationship.
That is why, us Single Ladies must be thankful that until the day (should it ever come) when we meet another single person who loves us just as much as we love ourselves...
We must embrace and celebrate our ability, strength, courage and sheer fabulousness that makes us proud to be standing solo and happy with just that.
For who needs anything or anyone else...it's just 'frosting' after all :) x
I have to confess at the beginning I thought it was a little obvious and predictBle, like stuff I've read before... But the author does a great job at keeping the ideas simple and easy to read with small chapters and several feel-good phrases.
At the end I felt really good and excited to take on this new season in my life and really enjoy and make the best of it.
