I started following Mandy's writings a few years ago. I was in the middle of a law school lecture and randomly came across an article she'd written about Mr. Big. I held back tears right there in the middle of Marital Property Law (random I know) and got on Facebook to find and tell this woman how much 3 minutes of her writings had encouraged, supported and motivated me. To say my mind has been blown by this book would be an understatement. She has a way of telling you the truth about what is, without crushing your hopes for what can be.
The Single Woman is a voice that, promotes every woman's belief in Prince Charming, is honest and fearless enough to tell us when "Mr. Right Now" isn't "Mr. Right", and provides graceful support that encourages us to hold out for and believe in better.
Mandy says what you need to hear in a way that is so eloquent, honest and pure that you cant help but feel your soul inhale a much needed wave of fresh air. She believes in love and is heroic enough to help us believe in it when we start accepting a lesser version of its truth. She's been in your stilettos and is an example of honest vulnerability and perseverance that's rare and refreshing.
This book lends a microphone to that little voice in the back of your head that's always whispering "you deserve better and better is coming." The Single Woman's Sassy Survival Guide to Letting Go and Moving On is a life changing read, that is necessary for every woman - tall, short, skinny, black, white, purple or green, single, married, dating, broken hearted or anywhere in between.
This book truly connects with the reader. Mandy truly is that friend, sister, mother, or aunt that tells you what you NEED to hear not what you WANT to hear. And that's what people going through these types of situations truly need. You need someone to be honest. You need someone who has been through it themselves and can really relate. Mandy is that person and I greatly appreciate her for opening herself up and writing this book and just for being her. She is the best friend that every woman needs. This book is well worth the read. Her Twitter is awesome too! So follow The Single Woman.
I've been following Mandy Hale (The Single Woman) on Twitter for over a year, reading every inspiring and uplifting Tweet she writes. While inspiring, they have a realness and bluntness to them that tells you what you NEED to hear...not what you WANT to hear. Sometimes what you want to hear is comforting, but what you need to hear helps you let go...isn't that why we are all here in the first place, downloading this book and reading Hale's twitter? We're seeking help. So we all need the truth, and Hale's words delivers just that, without crushing us to the point that we can't move on. On the contrary, it makes us WANT to move on and take the next step in bettering our lives.
What I like about this book is that you can take her advice and apply it not only for romantic relationships. I've used her advice for friends and new acquaintances, so I can make better decisions about who to let in my life, and who to keep in it. If you're a 30 something, a teenager, a senior, a man, or a woman....ALL can benefit from this book.
I've been waiting for this book to come out now for months. It definitely was worth the wait. The way Mandy describes her own experiences are very relatable to my own life and no doubt a lot of other people's lives as well. I smiled, I laughed, and at times, I felt that she wrote this book for me! It brought me through a lot of personal emotions. I do plan on reading it again because she offers some very good advice. And if you're anything like me, sometimes you need to hear (or read) something a few times until you realize, "Wow. I should have listened to that advice a long time ago". I would definitely recommend Mandy's book to anyone that is dealing with a personal struggle, because I felt a lot better after I read it and it made me feel empowered. It's very encouraging. Great job!
Thank you Mandy for writing this book. Your direct and friendly advice, as well as your willingness to share some of your own personal experiences with letting and moving on have given me the strength and encouragement I need to let go and move on. Now I can focus on how to begin again by rediscovering myself and loving me, and maybe someday even welcoming a more deserving love into my life.
I never write reviews, but after reading this book I realized it would be a sin to not write how wonderfully inspirational the author is...for anyone who is going through anything that is causing them pain, hurt, confusion, or heartbreak, this book can help you. It's a hard reality and the deep truth, but it's what we all need to hear to begin to heal and move on. I found myself relating and understanding to every story Mandy had written, and it felt nice to know I am not the only one and I will get through it. It's hard to be positive in times of distress, but this book helps you do just that. I know I will be looking back on her chapters constantly for her words of wisdom..sometimes we all just need a little help and this book does just that.. Thank you so much for writing such a true and honest book..you are wonderful
I cannot believe how incredibly perfect this book was for me and my life right now! I can't believe how much I saw of myself and my life in Mandy's own story... Scary almost... I have to believe that it was a God breeze that had me stumble on @TheSingleWoman years ago so that when I found myself I this season of my life, I would have someone to turn to ...someone whose words I needed to hear because they would help me get through this season and start again... I can't thank you enough Mandy! I've been thanking God for you every night... God bless you!
This book is full of what you need to hear (and may have been told by that voice deep down or a BFF) - but it's presented in such a way that it draws you in and also makes you feel empowered. Definitely recommend!!
Enjoyed the read. Good book. A little on the simple side, as in, it really is just stating what most people already know. That being said though, sometimes that is what people need to hear to be able to move on or think things through. All in all an easy and enjoyable read providing food for thought and support where needed. Some good pages to highlight and repeat to yourself, and help you find the strength. I would recommend - though like I said it is a little simplistic so if you are after something more in depth then this may not be your book :)
This book is the friend we need when we are too scared or just plain reluctant to share our personal misfortune/misery with others. This book is the friend whose voice we need to hear to confirm what we already know. This book is the friend that hugs us and helps us to our feet when we have decided to let go for good. This book is the voice of reason when the insanity of our lives takes over!!! This book is your true friend. Don't be alone anymore, read this book and find yourself again!!!
