I apologize for not writing sooner; but I didn’t want to rush a response. I didn’t have any expectations outside of getting the record in one piece. Had I had any expectations, I want you to know that you certainly exceeded them. Not only did you give me a limited edition green vinyl; you put in a signed and numbered Sons of Hippies 7”. 66/500. I could go on pretty long and detailed about it, but that’s for another time. So let me just leave it at “Thank you very much.” -Ryan Scott Whipps

Glenn's one of the greatest metal singers of all time!!! He has his own voice, but is also really good at invoking his influences and can sound similar to Elvis, Jim Morrison, or Howlin Wolf whenever it works well for the song. Danzig has at least eight original albums so I think it's just fine that he did this one to pay tribute to his idol Elvis. His voice sounds awesome (yes even for an old guy) and he stays true to the song. In 2015 they released Skeletons, the first cover album, which was Danzig doing their own twist on the songs. This one is closer to how Elvis sang it. I thought it was too mellow at first but after a few listens I really like it. Buy this album and show Glenn and Elvis your support. Glenn if you read this, please do a tour again with the original Danzig lineup. John Christ and Chuck Biscuits and the bass player deserve to tour again, and so do the fans. And we all know that you still have it as a song writer and can put together at least one more great album!!

Glenn announced his intention to release an album of Elvis covers about a decade ago, but it seems like the wait was more like a generation or a geological age. Probably because of his Evil Elvis comparisons, he was born to create this morbid love letter to Elvis. It would've been better if he released it in his prime, of course, and the production could certainly have been better; but in his prime he was busy writing his own phenomenal music. Considering the lackluster quality of his post 90's releases, this was perhaps the perfect time to release this glorious tribute. Hopefully, a new slower tempo, possibly acoustic, Misfits album is on the horizon for Glenn. Those who feel a slower version of the Misfits would be unacceptable should check out some of the gorgeous acoustic fan covers of the Misfits on Youtube. If a 21st century Misfits doesn't happen, I'd love to see Glenn come out with a bluesier album, sometime after a legit (affordable) Misfits tour.

If you enjoyed Danzig's previous cover of the Everly Brothers' "Crying In The Rain," you will enjoy this album. According to the liner notes, Danzig played most of the instruments himself, so it feels like a true "solo" album. The complaints I read about "too much reverb" and "bad production" crack me up as that's probably what the squares were saying back in the 1950s when the original Sun records were being released. Have these critics ever heard Elvis doing "Blue Moon"?!? Haha. Anyways, the whole album is great, and Danzig's cover of "Fever" makes a timely anthem for the quarantine age.

I occasionally go to a record store that twice a year puts out a pamphlet/booklet that suggest the best records, movies and books that the employees have experienced in the past six months. This album was in that pamphlet, I listened to it and like it, so i bought it.

Having seen the recent Elvis movie I felt like listening to this album again. The album is made up of mostly deep cuts that you wouldn't know of if all you've listened to of Elvis is his Greatest Hits/what you can find on the radio.

In listening to the album, it came to me that I hadn't heard most of the song as sung by Elvis himself, so i got on YouTube to rectify that.

Lo and behold, at least one track wasn't actually sung by Elvis at all but Conway Twitty.

It's still a good album, i just found that part weird.

I absolutely love this album. To be honest, it’s pretty much exactly how I’d imagined that it would be. Even the cover makes more sense as it’s a graphic composition representation of the thick reverb present throughout the album. Perfectly recreates a rockabilly atmosphere. At times I forget that this is a Danzig album. Is it going to satisfy everyone’s taste or expectations, probably not. I listened to the digital download several times before the vinyl showed up. The digital version is severely anemic in comparison. The vinyl gives it soul and everything comes together perfectly. I’ve been waiting on this album for years and I’m not disappointed. 🤘🤘🤘

It's safe to say that all long-time Misfits and Danzig fans have been eternally waiting for an album of Elvis covers from the Jersey Warlock. Aside from his overt claims that Elvis is one of his musical influences, simply listening to any of Danzig's previous albums will prove it. I've given this CD several spins and some thought. Concerning the actual songs, these are not the typical Elvis hits. And that's ok. I don't mind Danzig's choice of Elvis rarities. However, most of these songs are very cool, mid-tempo crooners. Don't expect an album full of rockabilly, "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Jailhouse Rock." Secondly, as with us all, Danzig has aged, and his voice shows it. No fault to Danzig, but he sounds tired. This album would have been incredible if he had recorded it sometime within his first four solo albums ("Danzig"- "Danzig 4"). As it stands in 2020, maybe it is an album deferred 25+ years too late. Thirdly, don't expect John Christ riffs or Joey Castillo skin pounding. This album is exactly as described - Elvis covers. It's obvious that Danzig wanted to honor Elvis by staying true to the original feel of the songs. He's not putting much of a Danzig glazing on these numbers. This is an essential album for Danzig fans, but maybe not so much for anyone else. Elvis fans may pass on it as well, but if anyone knows Danzig, he won't care. He recorded this album because he enjoyed it; he probably doesn't mind too much if we don't.

A lot of people like to crap on Danzig, but I think this record is so beautiful and understated. Nice warm recording too.

A versatile album you can turn on when you just want some moody BGM or when you want to really enjoy some classic tunes done with a Danzig twist.
