I loved this novella and was super excited that we get more Raze. There is no secret I love Raze… no really he is the perfect MC book boyfriend and he’s MINE! This story is Mikey’s younger years and the trials he had to overcome along with way. Mikey would do anything for his mother and sister, but his father is another story. There are times when Raze has to question what is right and what is wrong.
I adored seeing this side to him before he grew into being a total alpha male. I mean don’t get me wrong he was alpha in this book too, but let me just tell you the years were good to my man. One of my favorite parts is where Jagger gives Mikey his road name. My heart did a pitter-patter. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Paige brings next… even if it’s continuous books of Raze I will be completely fine with that. Don’t miss out of this series it’s addicting!
Heaven’s Rejects MC are not in good shape, and by that I mean that the President has had more on his mind that just the club and the wellbeing of the brother’s, nope he was more interested in the status that his position brought to his particular party and in doing so he wasn’t exactly good at either being President or keeping everything he needed to in check.
He made enemies as I am sure you can imagine and when up was called it was left to his son Mickey to step up and take the reins. Little did he know just what a task he has on his hands.
Mickey was everything his father thought he wasn’t and despite the fact that his dad spent so long trying to show everyone that Mickey wasn’t up to the task of ever being President, now the job was his…he was more than up to the task.
The club is on it’s a**, the magnitude of the lies and subterfuge that his father was at the core of is staggering but Mickey is determined that through hell or high water he will turn their fortunes around again, his only hope is the he doesn’t have to take his guys into a war in order to get it.
I liked that he saw the bigger picture that he was willing to do what it took to get the guys back in line and the club heading in the right direction, I also liked the fact that his abilities took a lot of them by surprise but that they willing to see that no matter the actions he took, whether they be right or wrong he always had the club and the brothers at the forefront of his mind.
As far as MC stories go I liked that it centred on Mickey and what he was doing and how he was doing it, as you would expect with an MC story there are women throughout the storyline but that was not the main focus of the story, there was no woman that captivated his attention, yes there is one that enters the fray that I very much hope we see more of in the next book but this was about the transformation of one guy, his growth from boy to man, from son to leader, from Mickey to Raze!
This is the story of how Raze became President of the Heavens Rejects MC and what led to him becoming the man he is. This isn't a pretty story. Mikey had been a man stuck in a life he didn't want. Being the only son of a depraved and corrupt Motorcycle Club President is an albatross for Mikey. He hates what his father has done to this club and where it's taken them. He silently waits for his chance to get his mother and sister away safely.
When his father screws up and puts the entire club on the chopping block, Mikey is thrown into the role of club President. Now he will have to take up the gavel and get him and his club brothers out of the mess they now find themselves in. With hopes of turning his club around and restoring it back to what it was always meant to be, Mikey has to make some very risky decisions he never wanted to make.
This is what I like when I read these types of books. Lots of action and club business. (I wasn't particularly thrilled with the theme of human trafficking but unfortunately that sometimes goes along with this particular genre), but we also get men who are the ultimate antihero. Strong, loyal, passionate and possessing an inherent need to protect those they love. That's why I love them. Mickey is definitely that but he's more. He has heart, he has dreams and he wants his club, his family and their town to flourish.
Sins of the Father was well written and very entertaining and I personally love the idea of seeing how a man like Raze came to be. I'm a fan of this series and I hope there are more books to follow. I'm curious about many more of these men and who they ultimately are.
I definitely recommend this one!
