Get the information and get out of there. Knox knows his mission and things are running as smoothly as can be expected. Except while downloading the files and grabbing the flash drive, there’s a gun pointed at him. Trinity is a spy also so they should have that in common, right? Except she is working for the other side. Between the secrets, lies and all out spying, will these two ever be able to meet in the middle? Not to mention whoever is leaving Trinity threatening notes and trying to scare the crap out her.

“Incapable of stopping myself, I slanted forward, halving the space between us. I could hear the chaotic drum of her heart. She smelled citrusy—almost like a lemon meringue pie—and I had the ridiculous urge to lick the long column of her throat. Her breath caught and her lips parted, a faint blush moving up her cheeks. Time suspended, shimmering around us with unleashed potential. A hundred thoughts trickled through my mind, sending a dark, unsettling heat rippling through my body. If I were a gambling man, I would’ve bet she wanted me to kiss her and a whole lot more. I felt like I was losing my mind because there was no way anything could happen between us.

Her warm chocolate eyes hardened, turning black, and all too soon, she snapped out of whatever trance we were under. She slapped my hand away. ‘I’m not afraid of you, Knox Black.’ The smoky warmth of her voice made my heart bang against my ribcage.”

This is the second story about the Black Brothers but it can be read as a standalone. I did like the whole spy thing and trying to stop blackmail or political manipulation. This series really makes me think all politics are full of superficial people. I guess we need people like Knox to try to keep them in line.

You know that feeling you used to get when you were a child and you were going really high on a swing? The way your stomach slowly flip-flops over and over? That slightly queasy feeling that you somehow still enjoyed? This book gave me that feeling.
There is so much deceit and so many lies that just when you get your hopes up, your stomach takes another dive.
By no means was this a "teary" book but I did have a lump in my throat.

This is book #2 in the Black Brothers series. I really loved book #1 and Archer Black was certainly yummy but even then, I was drawn to Knox and desperately wanted his story.

Knox is brooding and carefree all at once. He works hard and he plays just as hard, as long as there's no strings, no commitment and no whiney, needy women. Knox is happy with the life he's carved out for himself.

Along comes Trinity. She's been burned more than once and doesn't trust easily.
Thrust together when their paths cross, neither one trusts the other but they soon find that they need each other in order to accomplish their goals.
Can they get over their mistrust of each other or are they destined to second guess each move the other makes?

I read this book easily in a day. It's a great read that flows seamlessly and although not super intense, it has enough to keep you from putting it down. I look forward to book #3.

This book was definitely not what I expected. The start of the story was a little bumpy but the relationship between Trinity and Knox made up for gaps in the story. The only distraction is how a strong, confident Trinity started getting lost in the story.

This is book two in the Black Brothers Series. I have not read the first book which left me a little off when turning through the pages here. You all know I love to read everything in a series even if they are considered stand alones. So please take that into consideration – you all know Im wired crazy like that. Book one centered around Archer Black and he is of course mentioned in this release so I couldn’t get my mind off of who he was.

This is Knox’s story.

Knox is the head of a private military investigations company who specializes in intelligence. He gathers info for whomever will pay him diving into the darkest depths of political indignity and corruption. His next job – find out who is behind swaying votes in Congress and why. Swaying is the nice way of putting what is happening … In and out is Knox’s motto for everything .. even down to his women. But facing off with Trinity Jones was NOT in the plan.

Trinity Jones knew he would be there .. Knox Black. Easy steal .. he gets the info she takes it from him. She was trained by one of the best – right or wrong side of the law. Trust .. she doesn’t give it nor does she need it. She trust no one but herself but Knox Black is getting under her skin. She can't let that happen. Using him might prove to be the wrong thing.

This story is pretty good but I just couldn’t get into the characters. I didn’t find myself consumed by the story. It wasn’t bad but it didn’t make me want to lose sleep and continue turning the pages. Having said that, if you are a Black Brothers fan you will love this release. Knox has plenty of alpha male to go around for a couple hundred women. Don’t shoot me but it just wasn’t for me ..
