It is a story on addiction. Addiction to drugs and addiction to making somebody better. Grace and Faith were identical twins. Grace introduced Faith to partying and how to sneak out of grandma's house. Grace lived with the guilt of Faith's spiraling life.
Years down the line, here walks Jude Mercer walks into the sister's life. Jude makes her want to better herself and believe in herself.
You can feel the chemistry between the couple. Jude never gave up on them. Loved the best friend Amie and her ability to keep Jude in the mix.
Geneva Lee had a writing style all her own. You can see the story come to life. Well written. Made a difficult message come with a happy ending.
The characters of the story - Jude, Grace, Max and Faith are all expertly written. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started reading and I almost didn't because I didn't want to look too closely at my own effed up life. But I'm glad I did and I'm...changed...if that makes sense.
Geneva is a talented story writer. This story will grab you by the heart and yank and tug. There are few books that I've read in my life that have made me laugh, cry, cringe, and nod sagely all within a chapter. Thank you Geneva. Thank you.
I don't want to give any spoilers but I would highly recommend this one. Whether your life has been touched by addiction or not it's a fantastic read!
