Its main strength is also its greatest downfall. This thing is well-built and heavy. You could seriously use it as a weapon in a fight. I don't see this breaking unless you drove a car over it. Due to its weight I almost never carry this while traveling because it adds noticeable heft in a backpack or sling. I have a bunch of camera gear and I never second guess what I need. This tripod on the other hand, I'm always hesitant to bring it. While you could use it as a hand held vlogging tripod, it's not designed for it. The grip isn't comfortable and the weight will tire your arm out after a few minutes. The tripod sliding plate costs $30 if you happen to lose it, which I learned the hard way. All the adjustment knobs make it fiddly and a headache to use if you're constantly changing position and gear. I do like how the legs fold out quickly. It now stays permanently on my home desk in a fixed position.

Well built tripod but tips over with heavier cameras in portrait orientation

As a tabletop tripod, it's a good choice "depending on your needs." That qualification is key though.

Pros:
- Very solid metal construction. I have a Sirui travel tripod that is excellent. This is just a mini-version of that
- Removable center column allows you to shorten the height for more stability (good for outdoors where it may be windy)
- Compact - fits easily into a jacket pocket or a very small camera bag
- Legs have rubber ends so no slippage
- Head is solid and smooth; lock knobs are very smooth and well built
- Arca swiss compatible with quick release

Cons:
- Head doesn't allow panning motion when the ball is locked. You'd probably have to have a larger head in order to do so.
- A little unstable in windy conditions with the center column attached. Indoors would be fine.
- Legs are too short for heavier cameras in portrait orientation

I ended up returning this due to the short legs. I have a Sony a7ii with the new Sony 24-105 f/4. It's a heavy lens. When I put the camera into a 90 degree portrait orientation, the tripod tips over. This was a big negative for me so I had to return it.

For smaller, lighter cameras like the a6500 with crop sensor lenses, I'm sure the tipping wouldn't be an issue.
FWIW, I bought the Manfrotto Pixie (the larger model) and there wasn't any tipping. I put Neewer arca swiss adapter plate on the Manfrotto; it's now compatible with my arca swiss plates on my cameras including having a quick release.

The Force is with this snazzy little tripod

This is a killer product that looks like a lightsaber when folded up. Frankly, that fact alone should justify purchase. I got this tripod for traveling and couldn't be happier (with one exception, below). It's great as a tripod, and pretty solid as a selfie-handle for video. I prefer it to the gorilla pod in every way, as those are finicky and wear out rapidly. There just aren't many competitors for a product this small and versatile. And subtle! It only takes a few small movements to attach the tripod to a plate and deploy the legs.

CAVEAT: The quick release plate included is utterly useless, it doesn't really grip the bottom of the camera and loosens, without fail, within 5 minutes of attachment. I experienced this with a fuji x series and a couple of sony alphas. I only took one star off because it's a universal arca swiss whatever plate, so i grabbed a plate from another tripod and now I have no complaints

After using my trusty Velbon for twelve years, the head finally cracked open on me, so I decided it was time to get a new tripod, and I just happened to stumble upon Geekoto, so I decided to give them a shot. Overall, I am quite pleased with the build quality and ergonomics of the tripod!

Pros

Extremely light! The tripod is a ridiculously light two pounds! That makes it very easy for me to stick into my backpack and not worry about it.
Geekoto also provides a nifty carrying case. The head can rotate 360 degrees and WOW is the movement very fluid, taking pano shots is a breeze with this. It folds up in seconds and can be strapped to or placed inside a book bag.
If your looking for a great tripod I can confidently recommend this , you wont be disappointed.

Bought this after being very frustrated with my gorillapod. Just received it yesterday so I don't know about durability but if it's anything like my Sirui ballhead then it should be just fine. I like it came with a short center column which was unexpected. Table top mode is going to be great for some macros and product shots with my Sony A7Riii. My only gripe is the included ballhead doesn't have a separate control for panning so I took it off and used a mini colorado ballhead and it keeps the size very similar but gives me individual control for panning.

SIRUI je suis assez fan, c'est pas le moins cher mais pas le plus cher, et tous leur matos à un coté qualitatif assez premium. J'ai un trépied de voyage et un monopode en plus de ce mini trépied, prise en main c'est tout de suite premium, bien pensé et ça fonctionne parfaitement.

Les qualités :
- C'est très léger pour cette catégorie d'allongement
- la taille est idéale pour le poser sur une table
- c'est stable et solide
- Pour du vlog, c'est la taille idéale, plus long et se serait lourd et instable à porter, plus court ça manquerai un peu d’allonge
- De façon general, on a une bonne prise et un bon confort avec ce mini trépied
- la rotule est qualitative et à assez de force de serrage pour des appareil+objectif de taille/poids moyen, disons que jusqu'à 1.5kg (2kg grand max) ça marchera très bien
- Le petit mousqueton pour l'accrocher est un petit plus sympa

Les moins :
- ce n'est pas si compact que ça mais plus compact on a pas la même allonge et capacité de poids
- La rotule à une base tournante qui n'est pas fluide et qui dépend de la force de l'unique molette de serrage, pour pouvoir la tourner facilement il faut aussi desserrer la rotule...Pas de panoramique fluide avec cette rotule
- La rotule est qualitative mais aussi assez lourde, perso je l'ai remplacé par plus léger/compact
- Le prix....

C'est pas parfait, mais sans problème l'un des meilleurs choix, j'ai résisté longtemps à son achat, le prix est un poil important même si ça le vaut, au final, je suis très content de mon achat, et je le conseille sans problème !

Der Kopf ist sehr ordentlich und ein Großteil des Kaufpreises wert, deswegen gebe ich dem Gesamtpaket auch die Note 4.

Man kann nicht sagen dass das Paket schlecht ist, aber es sind eben keine 5 Sterne.

Vorab, ich verwende eine EOS 5D3 (+ L-Winkel) nebst Objektiven (z.B. 100-400L, 100 Makro, etc.), die durchaus Gewicht haben.

Stativ und Kopf sind vergleichweise leicht, das Gewicht darf trotzdem gerne 2 Kg haben. :)

Aber der Schwerpunkt muss mittig sein!

EOS 5D3 + 100-400L mit Stativschelle geht. Am besten direkt am Fuß unten installiert, die Default-Säule (nicht ausgefahren) tut aber auch noch. Gewichtsmässig. Wenn aber Brennweite ins Spiel kommt wird es schnell grenzwertig, locker 400mm geht nicht, nur sauber austariert, Spiegelvorauslösung, kein Wind, etc. ...

=> Dies mache ich dem Stativ *nicht* zum Vorwurf, sorgte somit auch nicht zum Punktabzug, dies ist physikalisch bedingt. Sollte man wissen. ;)

Schnalle ich die EOS 5D3 + 100er Makro *ohne* Stativschelle drauf ist das Ganze nicht sauber einstellbar. Das System ist nicht austariert (also Schwerpunkt nicht genau über der Säule). Dies lässt sich nicht sauber einstellen (nachsacken), weswegen größeres Gewicht und nicht austariert unbrauchbar ist.

=> Dies mache ich dem Stativ erneut *nicht* zum Vorwurf, sorgte somit erneut nicht zum Punktabzug, auch dies ist physikalisch bedingt. ;)

Kommen wir zu den "gefühlten" Schwachpunkten:

1.) Haptik
Gefühlt sind die ausklappbaren Füsse (und deren Arretierung) billig, wenn ich mein Hakuba-Metalltischstaiv dagegen halte (praktisch isses aber echt OK). Dafür ist es super leicht. Die DSLR wiegt ja schon genug. Ob die Beinchen irgendwann knack machen oder Jahrzehnte halten kann ich natürlich am Anfang noch nicht sagen.

2.) DSLR
Eine DSLR ist prinzipiell problematisch, da zu schwer. Unter perfekten Bedingungen sind sicher auch Höchstleistungen möglich (z.B. die beworbenen 4kg Belastbarbkeit), darauf bauen würde ich nicht. Das Stativ ist OK für Sucherkameras oder auch schwerer (DSLR), aber nur, wenn man sehr sauber austarieren kann.

Kommen wir zu den "echten" Schwachpunkten:

1.) Keine Friktion (bei dem Preis kein Wunder)
Es besteht die Gefahr des Wegkippen wenn man den Kugelkopf löst, ein sauberes Einstellen (besonders bei langen Brennweiten) ist eher ein Glückspiel.

2.) Keine getrennte Panoramaeinstellung (erneut bei dem Preis kein Wunder)
Panorama kann nur durch Öffnen des Kugelkopfes verstellt werden (also kein einfaches Rotieren zur horizontalen Achse möglich) .

Ich gebe immer noch 4 Punkte (aber nur für das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ;))

I got fed up with buying cheap mini tripods, this one was probably more than i wanted to spend, but it was a chouce between this one and a plastic one.
I'm glad i chose this one, rugged metal construction, good ballhead locking (thoug i don't understand the gradiated ring when the ballhead can spin independently), it would have been better if the alternative riser tube could have been an extension too.
I was disappointed that the screw needs a coin or scredriver to attach the camera, but i found a screw with a D ring that perfectly fits, it was the "D-ring Screw for Camera Tripod" (available on Amazon)

The manfrotto pixie killer

This mini tripod is a very useful item if you are travelling light & just need something every now & then hold your light weight camera setup in order to get the shot. Compared the the manfrotto table top tripods, this puppy has the added benefit of way more height if needs be. But do bear in mind that because of the tripod feet’s small foot print it will not sit very firm & solid if extended to it tallest height with a more weighty camera setup. Other than that, it also has the ability to hold your camera quite low to the ground rock solidly by removing the vertical post & mounting the mini ball head directly to the feet section. It comes with a nice padded pouch & 2 sizes of Allen keys for making configurations & tightening. It’s ball head & mounting plate is also another plus for flexibility over the manfrotto pixie versions.
