Replaces the Sirui P-204S model. The P-204RS Aluminum Photo/Video Monopod from Sirui is a 4-section alloy monopod with three fold-down support feet for additional stability. In addition, an adjustable friction control ball head mechanism in the base of the monopod and a panning hand grip enable smooth 360° pan and 20° tilt movements. The three support feet fold up and lock into position against the monopod and can even be removed entirely and used as a table-top tripod. A large rubber base foot is available for conventional use and it can be removed and replaced with the included spike foot for use on soft or slippery ground. It weighs just 2.9 lb but can support a load up to 17.6 lb. The mounting plate on the P-204R has 1/4" and 3/8" tripod sockets or compatible heads. The maximum height reaches 63" and it can fold down to 27", three twist locks provide quick and stable adjustment. With adjustable tension control, the base locking collar enables the monopod to stand upright on its own.Specifications Model - P-204SR - Material - Aluminum Sections - 4 Max Diameter (mm/in) - 28/1.1 Min Diameter (mm/in) - 19/0.7 Max Height (mm/in) - 1600/63 Min Height (mm/in) - 690/27.2 Weight (kg/lb) - 1.3/2.9 Load Weight (kg/lb) - 8/17.6

Fluid head for it in the future to give it even more dimension for videos... the bag that came with it is great and very durable for on the go.
If you are on the fence, just take the plunge and buy it and enjoy the great results that you will have.
I will have more info about it in a few weeks of using it... my friends have it and love it !!!!
Its nice when you order an expensive piece of equipment that when it arrives it exceeds your expectations. Its a bit heavy but I haven't found anything that I don't like about this monopod.
Then I read about the Sirui Monopod and it seemed on paper at least to be the perfect solution. I bought it, and the Sirui C-10x Ball Head as well. This Monopod is amazing! Easy to change the height. The entire column will tilt in any direction as it has a pivot head right where the three legs come together at the base of the center column. The friction for that pivot joint is adjustable. The first few times I used it, the legs came off the ground when I tipped the column. Ok, now it is time to read the instructions! I could loosen up the friction to overcome that issue, but then the column would tip on its own. The instructions actually mention that and suggest resting your feet or a foot on top of the legs. I'm sitting down while taking my pen pictures so I did that with both feet, and now my shooting time has been cut literally in half! I compose the picture, adjust the angle, tilt, etc. then hit the shutter release button. I use a Macro lens and am often only 3 or 4 inches away from the pens, and the photos come out tack sharp!
The build quality on this Monopod is superb. The fit and finish is spectacular. Heck it looks better than a new car sitting in a showroom. This beast also converts into a table top tripod. I haven't used that feature yet, but it is essentially the same Monopod but with the center column removed and the ball head then attaches to the three legs. All of the parts needed to do that are included so you don't have to buy more pieces.
One final comment. I've had this Monopod for about a month or two and have probably shot at least a 1000 photos with it, constantly adjusting the height, tilting the column for the right angle, etc. but since the day I bought it and set the friction for the effort to tilt the center column, I have not had to make any adjustments at all to the friction joint. I'm impressed. Worth every penny. I would definitely highly recommend this Monopod.
