Perfect size to take the 12 x 7 x 1.7 Spanish Cedar tray, a Caliber IV hygrometer, a couple Boveda 72% RH packs (12) making a $77 Tupperdor from Amazon that works & seals better than most $500+ wooden display humidors on the market...may not look as nice BUT when you are keeping several $30-$60 Habanos over time....looks don't count!
It's all about the Cuban sticks!

Great for humidified cigar storage

I use these for cigar storage "tupperdors" with two Spanish cedar trays in each. Those trays are available here on Amazon too, and two of them (if you get the right size) stack perfectly in the 7L Sistema Klip-It. Add a couple of 60g Boveda humidifier packs (I use 65% RH) and a Caliber IV hygrometer and you've got a great storage system for fine cigars that works better than most all-wood humidors and holds 50 to 80 cigars (depending on their size).

Best & most affordable way to store cigars on the cheap

So happy I found these as they are asolutely perfect for storing between 80 to 120 cigars, depending in the vitola.

When you purchase and it arrives, simply get a clean towel and wipe down the inside with distilled water and let dry. Don't drench it, just enough to clean her up.

I broke up some empty Liga Privada boxes and lined the bottom for some extra humidity control. Put your cigars in and fill halfway up, put a 69% Boveda pack in the middle and then fill the rest of the way up. If you think it's full when you go to the top there is still room when you add the lid for another layer. That's it, mine hold a perfect 65% to 67% RH. If you're in a dryer environment you might need two Boveda packs, but add two 62% or 65 % and not two 69% IMO.

I have 8 of these now and ordered two more today so I can throw out crappy Boveda humidor bags I've been using.

You will not regret this purchase for your cigars. I do recommend you have it at least half full and open once a month for 10-15 mins to get some air through them.

The description says 14 x 10 x 5 inches. The exterior width is just over 8 inches on the bottom (9 1/4 on the lid). Length is just over 13 inches on bottom exterior (lid is 13 3/4). Interior dimensions are much smaller. Very disappointed.

Careful Using As Tupperdor

I bought this particular size because some have stated that it can indeed fit two cigar cedar trays inside while others said there isn't enough space well.....I went ahead & bought this as the price was reasonably lowered. Firstly, it is air tight & has four clip lock sides. They can snap & unsnap with a firm grip on the lid, although some of these clip locks can be flimsy & seem to be barely holding onto the lid. There's supposed to be a slight resistance unlocking them from the lid. What you want to look out for is a handle that's completely flimsy & doesn't latch on tight to make the seal. As far as storage If you wanted to store 75-80 cigars without the trays then it is possible depending on the ring size. I would say nothing over 50/52 ring gauge. While you can store thicker cigars, this will decrease the amount you can fit inside. Now as far as using cedar trays, I DO NOT see how two trays can fit without sanding them down or some type of modification. Maybe an older version that provided more room was updated to a smaller storage space? IDK but the Sistema 236 that I purchased will NOT fit two trays but only one. I opted to store 80-100 cigars without any trays but a couple of Boveda packs should help out nicely. It depends on your needs & what you expect from using this model design as a tupperdor. ☆☆☆UPDATE☆☆☆
As of 8/26/20 I'm currently storing 120 cigars with some being Robusto size while others are Toro & Churchill sizes. There might even be some extra room for a couple more Robustos. I think I will leave the extra room for breathing space so that the Boveda two way humidification system circulates properly. The Sistema 236 is perfect for storing up to six boxes of Robusto size cigars assuming that each box contains twenty cigars at 5x50. I'd definitely recommend buying one for those who don't want the hassles that a wood box humidor require. You don't have to take a couple of days to "season" this container, unless your using cedar trays inside but then your also limiting the amount of cigars you can store. Anyhow, It's airtight so there's a better chance of freshness & less chance of air loss as opposed to a wood humidor. It's literally a drop & stop system by using the Boveda packs. You don't have to worry about occasionally checking the rh & temp on your hygrometer because it's more reliable, being that it's airtight.

I love it for a tupperdor! So much easier than dealing with a wooden humidor. I put one tray in and I will buy a second. It can hold plenty of cigars! Doesn't seem 100% air tight but very close. I have 3. 60gram 72% Bovedas in there and my Boveda Butler reads at 70% (after seasoning the tray). I am very happy with that. It came in perfect shape without any weird plastic smells. Overall, I couldnt be happier. Hopefully it lasts!

Instead of buying a humidor, I went ahead and bought this Sistema 1870 container to store my cigars and I LOVE IT. I bought myself the following items on Amazon:

(1) Sistema 1870 Klip It Collection Rectangle Food Storage Container, 232 Ounce
(2) Mantello Solid Spanish Cedar Cigar Trays
(1) EEEKit 2-pack Mini LCD Digital Electronic Temperature Humidity Meter
(1) Boveda 69% Rh 2-Way Humidity Control, Large 60 g, 4 Pack

The two Mantello trays stack PERFECTLY inside the Sistema container. I have about 50 cigars inside the tupperdor and with two 69% Boveda packs it maintains around 67% humidity. For around $65, you'll have the perfect place to store 75+ cigars! Make sure to get the 60g 65% or 69% Boveda 4 pack (Boveda recommends 69% for tupperdors) and a digital humidity meter to complete the set up. I also use a 15 cigar travel humidor (also air tight) to store the cigars I know I will smoke soon so I don't keep opening the tupperdor.

I've got loads of plastic kitchen storage, I'm sure most of us have. Nearly all of mine are the 'other' type, with the moulded wings. Lock and Lock I think.

They are great, but with continued use, the clips eventually fall off. Klip it boxes have eliminated that weakness by having the klips not be a moulded part of the lid.

Simple and effective.

This size is LARGE. I use it for cat biscuits. It's too big for a lunchbox unless you have a loaf of bread for lunch!

Now do I replace ALL my plastic storage with Klip it stuff?

As a household we use a variety of lockable food containers, mostly from one brand with Sistema holding second place in numerical terms; a few others follow well behind.

Many of the brand's containers use the now standard four clip closure system, theirs being slightly different than most. An internal silicone ring within the lid edge helps ensure air- and water-tightness although it is less absolute than the leading brand. Consequently, most from Sistema are not used for food storage although a few are used within the fridge and freezer and are tidier and easier to stack than when using freezer bags.

Generally used to contain 'dry goods' such as printer cartridges, consumables for labelling printers and others. A few smaller ones are also used for DIY consumables such as screws and nails.
