In the Sister Wife's Search, Gray is embroiled in another crime mystery that hits directly in her home when her daughter Ruthie is abducted. As a result, the past Gray ran from shows up at her door, and she has to find the strength to face it so that she and her children can move on. She also has much explaining to do to Boone, who has become a close friend and someone she cares for and respects. Gray is also reunited with her son, Abel. The reunion is not all happy as Abel has a secret, and he needs his Mom's help to save someone very precious to him. In the midst of the turmoil of the abduction, there are many twists, suspense, drama, and a budding romance. Gray even finds a new friend in policewoman, Charlie Callahan, and discovers that she has really great neighbors and a couple of people in the neighborhood who turned out to be not so great. For the first time since she was a small child, Gray begins to feel safe, loved, respected, and a part of a strong community.
The Sister Wife's Search is a little predictable in places, and Gray gets away with things at a crime scene that no civilian would be able to do, but that does not decrease the suspense or entertainment factor. It ends with a preview of what comes in the next book, which will take Gray and her kids back to the past she ran away from. Book three, The Sister Wife's Husband, will be a real nail-biter. I will be reading that one for sure!
