About the author

Nancy Roman grew up in Bristol Connecticut, attending local schools and graduating from the University of Connecticut, an English major with an MBA.
Nancy returned to writing after a long intermission devoted to paying bills. Her essay, "My Perfect Mess," recounting her sweet experience with her sixth-grade teacher was included in Marlo Thomas' best-selling collection, THE RIGHT WORDS AT THE RIGHT TIME, VOLUME II.
Nancy writes weekly about aging, kindness, and living a happy life on her popular blog, "Not Quite Old" (http://notquiteold.com). Her Twitter account, Theo-sophy, (@notquteold) has been usurped by her dog Theo, where he shares his daily bit of advice.
Her first novel, JUST WHAT I ALWAYS WANTED, is a poignant story of adoption, told with humor and honesty.
Nancy has also written the historical novel, LUCINDA'S SOLUTION, a love story of changing mores and the role of women in the aftermath of World War I and the 1918 influenza pandemic. The novel was inspired by her own family's story.
Her most recent book is SISTERS, SECRETS, AND THE JUNIOR PROM, a coming-of-age novel set in 1969.
Roman lives in Litchfield, Connecticut with her husband, four mysterious cats, and two disobedient but adorable dogs.

1969. There were a lot of 60's references, too, that brought back a flood of memories. The story was a timeless one and the characters were very real. I recommend it.
