Six of Hearts is a devastatingly brilliant and captivating read filled with mystery, wit, excitement, and romance that will leave you panting and enraptured. This story is so very unique and creative that it was like a breath of fresh air. I did not want to put this book down and found myself at it's complete mercy as I found ways to read even while doing other tasks. This story grabbed me at the blurb, making me eager to get a crack at the inside, once I did so I knew I was in for a great read.

Jay Fields grabbed hold of me from the start and I can't help but say this man is one of my top book boyfriends ever. Just damn. Immediately I had him pictured as Tom Hardy and his personality had me completely enraptured with him. He was a strong alpha like male but wasn't a jerk, he had a heart of gold and cares deeply about those he is close with. The dialogue between him and Matilda was so much fun and the stuff that came out of his mouth, so cheeky and great and wonderful. I need a thesaurus because I just can't find the best words to describe this man. Not only that but the pet name he assigns her is completely unique, smart and perfect for this story. I love that it isn't generic and felt like it was derived organically as a nickname would be in real life.

Matilda is a sweet yet naive young woman who has little experience with men but a pure heart and great character. She is strong and easy to love. Her protectiveness over her father is admirable and help build her up in my eyes. So much about her felt real and relatable.

The interactions between these two was just one of the many things driving the story forward. The mystery of wanting to know what is Jay up to is the other.

Since reading the master piece that is PAINTED FACES I have been starved for more from this author. *STARVED*
Even though I knew Cosway was capable of doing Literary Magic (get it? Magic?) I was still a little nervous to start this book. Glad to report, nerves were unfounded.

SIX OF HEARTS is everything the synopsis promises and more. This author delivers. Again.

I read it all in less than 24 hours.

The novel follows the story of illusionist Jay Fields and legal receptionist by day and seamstress by night, Matilda Brandon.
Irish American, Jay with a sexy accent, is looking for legal representation and justhappens to walk into Matilda's fathers law firm. Jay tries to convince Matilda's father, Hugh to take his case. Jay has his own personal reasons for wanting such a specific representation and will stop at nothing to convince Hugh to take him on as a client.

What develops next is a story that holds you with illusionist tricks, hilarious friendships, a budding romance and a thrilling mystery that keeps you in suspense and guessing until the very end.

Throughout the story we are in Matilda's head. She carries this story with her daily peculiar musings and hilarious inner dialogue. There are many laugh out loud moments.

She's actually funny. Matilda is also just like any other girl, in the sense that she doesn't want to put her self out there for a guy. Its hard being a girl. She feel intimidated by the "Stupid handsome bastard" that is Jay and also self conscious about herself.

Now, Mr. Jay Fields. This man is ahhh, I mean he's.. H.O.T. Hes funny, sex, smart, kind and honestly well adjusted for what he's been through in his life. This hero will make YOUR HEART disappear only to have it REAPPEAR in his hands.

Today I fell in love, and his name was Jay. No, that’s not a quote from the book. That’s what I’m going to tell my husband when he gets off work. L.H. Cosway tends to have heroes who are entertainers who suffers through a childhood trauma only to emerge strong, empathetic, amazing men. Jay takes it to a whole new level.

Jay is an illusionist. His whole life circles around making people see what he wants them to see. In a way, that’s reason enough to be leery of the attentions of this man. He’s filled with mystery, and can you really trust a man who 1. is hot as sin 2. chooses a career based on deception. 3. can read into any behavior and know what’s underneath. 4. is utterly brilliant. 5.knows how to manipulate things and people.

When shy, uncertain Matilda finds herself in herself the center of his attention as a friend, and then not... and then again, but maybe on hold, she finds falling even deeper for this man. I loved how Jay gave her just enough to hold onto through all the illusions he weaved. And more important, I loved how Matilda bravely took courage and knew there was more to the man than what he wanted depicted.

There’s so much I loved about this book. I loved the complexity. I loved how every action was practically a well thought out plan, except when it came to Matilda. I loved how Matilda was intelligent, but brave. I loved what Six of Hearts meant, and I loved how L.H. Cosway didn’t give us the answers till the end.

L.H. Cosway always tells a good story. This novel is more complex than her lasts, but it’s seriously just as good if not better. It’s a high honor for a book to remain on my kindle, and this book will remain in my cue.
