About the Author
The contributors to this groundbreaking anthology are all members of Western Fictioneers, a professional organization for authors who work in the genre of the traditional Western. The goal of Western Fictioneers is to promote the kinds of stories the members love to write (and read); the Western is the Great American Story, America's unique history and mythology, and it remains as relevant as it ever was.

Troy Smith’s “Bitter Mountain” offers retribution against a man who dares to take too much, Cheryl Pierson recasts the Arthurian legend within a western context in “The Keepers of Camelot”, and Jerry Guin’s “Rectification” will have you laugh with surprise when his plot twist is introduced.
There are many other fine stories, several with a macabre twist and a touch of the supernatural, but all with a strong sense of the Old West and the sentiments for which the genre is known. If you want something off the beaten path, I highly recommend.
With fifteen stories, it would be impossible for this reviewer to cover them all. The stories, some just a few pages like Angel in the Badlands and Christmas for Evangeline to longer ones like The Keepers of Camelot and The Longest Night, will keep the reader glued to the page. This book is on my list to read many times over, no matter what the season.
This anthology features a bunch of my favorite authors, and every story is a tasty treat of Old West flavor. Some are exciting, some are heartwarming, some are a bit scary, some are humorous, and some are all of the above--what a joy to read. Highly recommended!
