He finds himself in a world where he is in an area of 8 villages of people. They live in walled cities and the woods around them are full of mutated humans that are primitive and aggressive in nature. They are called wastelanders. There are also outlaws living in the hills and mountains trying to survive. They are those people that can't adapt to living in the villages and they are thrown out and have to survive on their own.
Jake has a lot of questions. How did he sleep for so long, where is his crew and why is the civilization that exists degraded to a feudal lord type of leadership…..
This is a good book but it starts slowly. As it goes alone it becomes more interesting and a good read. Jake is in a situation where he has found a New World Order founded by the survivors of the nuclear war. The leaders of the towns live like kings while the other people of the towns are either part of a security force or almost virtual slaves. Jake wants to help these people survive and also create a better future for themselves. It is an uphill battle but one that he is motivated to make happen.
I liked the story and I rated it 4 stars. I look forward to reading a follow up story.
I feel like this story was worth reading and i would buy it again.
Sixth Cycle is a gritty fun read that kept me turning the pages. Highly recommended.
5 Stars all the way!!
I wasn't disappointed at all.
I see many negative reviews, but didn't notice all the bad grammar and spelling issues noted by some.
It was a quickly paced story that took off and didn't slow down. The society that had developed after the war's devastation might have made sense to those in charge, but was still a product of old thinking that plagues us today... control, control, control! Good that someone stepped up and changed the outcome. Not sure if the authors have plans to continue this story, but they sure left open some bad happenings still to come.

Skye is my favourite character. I want to be her.
Could be interesting to see if an invasion scenario would work here too?
