About Sjur Midttun

Food and health writer. As a food writer Sjur has written extensively in Norwegian, as a columnist for a leading Norwegian newspaper. Has published several cookbooks about traditional, norwegian food but even so his culinary interest is not particularly towards the Scandinavian tradition. He has, for instance, written extensively about Italian and French food.

Interested in recipes, but also sociology of food, particularly food history. Sjur lives in Brazil, and is currently writing a series of articles about Brazil and Brazilian food. In addition to this, he is finishing up a series of short, focused cooksbooks, to be released in first half of 2015.

Sjur's food writing is not only related to the gastronomic sides of food, but also food related to health. And he is currently working on a book on metabolism. He also writes about health related issues. This interest started with research into hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's disease. And his research about hypothyroidism has resulted in the book "How to Beat Hypothyroidism".
