Beautiful Watch; Not for the Impatient

I consider myself pretty techie as I’ve been working in an IT-related job for 27 years and as a result I’ve learned that technology and patience go hand-in-hand. But I still got a little frustrated during setup. It took an iphone reboot, after installing the Wear OS app, and a watch factory reset, brand new watch by the way, just to get the app to see the watch. Afterwards, the watch performance was horrible for about 2 hours while updates were downloading and installing on the watch. This may happen automatically, but I kicked off about 8 updates myself from the watch. I suspect this is where most of the negative reviewers here have given up. Don’t give up and punch through it and you’ll be rewarded with a decent performing watch once it’s all done. Don’t expect fast performance though, For example it takes a second of staring at a blank screen for the watch to wake up when you twist your wrist to your face. The screen response is just OK, with sometimes just that sense of “did it pick up the swipe on the screen?” The battery is fine for me as I’m not a heavy user and I end the day with about 20%, sometimes going into battery saver mode. I suspect setup with an android phone might be a little smoother and I understand that there some additional functionality too that I’m missing connected to an iPhone. It’s my first smart watch and for $149 I’m not complaining since I can live with the well known Android watch issues. Bit this is not for those that get frustrated easily, you will probably give up on it. The silver with tan band is more of a grey matte than silver but I still like it and looks good with a generic metal link band. Nice looking watch that has gotten me some complements.

Easily the best looking Wear OS watch IMO. Especially good for those with smaller wrists as the case size is only 40mm. My main concern based on reviews before purchasing was battery life. After a week I am getting around 30 hrs (with gps and wifi turned off), which is enough for me since I charge it overnight, and charging only takes ~1hr. Build quality is satisfactory and buttons feel sturdy. The screen is excellent and text is crisp. Performance is average, some apps take a couple seconds to open. Overall, for me the eye catching minimalist aesthetics of this watch outweigh the relatively poor battery life and average performance.

It Broke my heart to return such a beautiful device. But beauty dosnt mean anything if it is useless. With all the ghost touch problems, Lack of batery life (only about 5-6 hrs), and the wear os's problematic glitches....I was bisically wearing a very fancy paperweight around my hand....
This Is truely a Beatiful Beautiful Device.....buy it lacks everything else....
