Add an edgy accent to your contemporary couture with the silvery gray Skagen titanium men's watch, which features a sophisticated design and Skagen's signature, ultra-thin stainless steel and titanium mesh band. The case is made from solid titanium, which is nearly 50 percent lighter than steel, but 30 percent stronger. It's also particularly resistant to salt water corrosion, as well as hypo-allergenic--perfect for those with metal allergies. Measuring 31.5mm (1.25 inches) wide, this square case is just 6mm (0.25 inches) thick and it's topped by a bezel with tiny machine bolt accents. It has a dark gunmetal gray dial that's complemented by silver stick dial markers, dotted small minute indexes, silver baton hands, and a day-and-date function at 3 o'clock. Other features include a super-hardened, scratch-resistant mineral crystal and precise Japanese quartz movement.
This watch is backed by Skagen's limited lifetime warranty, which covers all parts except strap, crystal and battery.
About Skagen Named after a fishing hamlet in Denmark on the northern tip of the Jutland peninsula, Skagen Designs was founded by Henrik and Charlotte Jorst in 1991 after the two Copenhagen natives moved to New York City. The company subscribes to the principle that beautifully designed, high-quality objects can be created at reasonable prices. Skagen watches represent the technical excellence, refined design and operational simplicity that have created the unique reputation of Danish design.
The fishing village of Skagen--the Skaw--lies where the northern-most tip of the Danish peninsula known as Jutland bends East and breaks the surging waters of the Kattegat and Skagerak seas. The spectacular natural beauty of the area is compellingly beautiful, and its white sandy beaches have been visited by artists for centuries.See all Product description

I have one like this, except with white dial for over five years. I swim, take shower etc. with out taking it off my wrist for months, and after five years is start showing condensation under crystal. This watch has Life Time Warranty but I find out that Metro Service Center in Dallas TX. SKAGEN Warranty Repair Center is not a reliable Repair Facility! I have to ship four times without satisfactory reseal. Repair is Free of charge but you have to pay for shipping and insurance about. $8.- every time you send it.
Instead, you might take to local watchmen repair shop for minor work like reseal, battery change etc. Most time they will fix it on the spot for les, or not much more than you have to pay for shipping.
Is too bad that SKAGEN do not make this Watch (model 396 series) any more. They come in white dial 396LTTW and black/gray dial 396LTTM. Get them if you can!
i bought this one for two reasons - one - its tough, because its titanium and it has the hardened crystal, so i can wear it at work and not worry - and two - i thought it would be comfortable because of the lightweight metal band - i work in the dessert, the temperatures are regularly 125 F in the summer - leather and rubber wristbands dont work very well for that
well the real heat isnt here yet - its winter in this dessert so its cooler - like about 50 and 60 - nevertheless, im sure this was the right choice for me
this watch is very comfortable - i almost forget im wearing it and ive never been good with keeping wrist watches, or rings, on for very long - they always bug me after a while - not this one
ive also avoided skagens because they look almost too plain - the lines are too clean - i like clean lines in most things, but i want some character too - so im surprised to find myself appreciating the look of this watch, more and more - ive had it for about a month now
this reminds me of the first time i got my birkenstocks broken in - after feeling how comfortable they were within a couple of months, i was wishing all my shoes could have a birkenstock sole
the material of the wristband is like that - its perfect in its own way - i almost wish all my metal bands felt the same way - i still dont like all the skagen designs - some are too small for men - the slim look isnt right for everything - just like birkenstocks arent right for everything - but after owning this watch i have a new appreciation for the whole approach they take - there is a certain perfection to it
if the face was just a few millimeters bigger i would give it 5 stars
Since I travel internationally, i have to change time/date on this watch a lot and since i don't memorize the instructions, i had to guess/play around a bit to change the time/date and it's not too bad. I'm a 5'6", ~150lb, guy and this watch fits my wrist very well. I'd think it'll fit bigger guys even better.
I'm pretty rough with my watch. I don't take it off when I'm doing construction activities around the house. So far, no visible damages :) 6 months and counting.
bottom line: if you want a light, thin elegant watch, this is the one for you.
cons: the date is hard to read. who's the genius put tiny red fonts on charcoal gray background? I feel old squinting at the date.
That said, this watch is not waterproof, and while there's no problem with getting it wet washing your hands or getting caught in the rain, make sure to take it off before swimming or showering. I also scratched the face, but it buffed out pretty easily.
