I'm very happy with this wrist watch. The blue dial is a pleasure to look at and the convenience of solar charging should hopefully mean that I will never have to take this watch in for a battery change. Since most of the watch size etc. specifications are listed on Skagen's website in good detail I'm not going to repeat them here. The stuff that is missing is details of the charging time and what happens to the watch when it looses power. I have uploaded 3 photos to the product gallery which show the relevant details from the watch manual.

In sunny conditions, the watch needs 16.9 hours for a full charge and 6 minutes for 1 days operation. With indoor fluorescent lighting those numbers are 484 hours and 2.8 hours. So make sure your watch gets enough sun exposure, I usually just keep it close to the windows when not in use and it has not given me any trouble in the one month I have owned it. Also when the watch looses power it should warn you by moving the seconds hand every 2 seconds instead of 1 second. I'm not sure of how these stats compare with other solar watches. One more thing, the hour and minute hand as well as all the 10 minute markers glow in the dark

Now if only they made a version in black with titanium and swiss movement.

    UPDATE:
I have been trying to find out how long this watch can run in the dark after a full charge since Skagen does not include that information. But since they mention that it uses a Miyota Japanese movement I searched to see what all solar movements are made my Miyota. It turns out that only one solar movement is listed on Miyotas webpage and looking at the pdf files posted there, it seem that the solar cell shape on this Skagen watch matches it.

Bought this watch for my father in law in January, and this week (July) the crystal shattered - a nice circular the size of a quarter just broke off. He was pretty gentle to the watch, and when I inspected it it did not seem to have any scratches on the crystal. He says he actually heard it "crack" and it was off his wrist on the table top at the time.

The only thing I can think of is that there was a temperature differential that broke the glass. if so, very cheap! I've never seen this happen to a watch I owned before. And I own a few other older Skagen watches.

Of course, the warranty doesn't cover ANY damage (due to manufacturer defect or otherwise) to the crystal. Guess I won't be buying him another. I think I'll get him a Casio solar to replace it.

Nice looking watch and I liked the idea of solar power and it kept good time. I've had the watch since June 2013 but do not wear it daily. I was in my car and as I placed my hand on the steering wheel I heard what sounded like glass cracking. The sound came from the glass crystal on this watch. Strangely, the elevated glass in the center of the watch cracked and completely separated from the rest of the crystal in a near perfect circle. The watch was in very good condition with no scratches to the crystal. I will contact Skagen and update this review with a positive revision if they honor their warranty. Apparently, it is a design defect and others have had similar problems. I have two other Skagen watched and they have held up quite well over the years.I don't mind paying for shipping, but I do not expect to pay for a new watch.

I really like this watch. It is nice and slim--really elegant-looking. The solar charge is a nice feature.

However, after I had mine for about 5 months I got a small scratch on the face. The next day the crack spread across the entire face and the crystal fell out. If that hadn't happened, easily would have been a 5 star rating.

Be very careful with this watch. I have owned numerous watches and never had a problem with smashing the case. I ordered this watch first nearly a year ago, but somehow inadvertenly the cover was smashed with crystal shattered. I loved it so much I decided to just order another one as the wait time at their servicing center is EXCESSIVE. Then the exact same thing happend to that watch is well. I think the crystal cover must be faulty on this line and sadly will not be purhcasing from them again.

The face of the watch is sharp and the color is brilliant. It also keeps time very effectively and has not given me a problem and I have had it for over a year now. The only item that I would like to change is the band. It is a simple leather band that shows wear quickly. I don't know how to change it because no pins are exposed.

This is my fourth Skagen watch, but the first with the solar face. It's a bit thicker and wider than the "typical" Skagen, which is about the size and thickness of a quarter! This one is still very very thin and looks great, keeps great time, and the strap is really comfortable too. Great watch. The solar cell is somewhat visible on the face, which isn't my favorite thing, but it still looks great. This is my new favorite watch.

I had the watch for about 5 months, and it worked fine. However, I was sitting in my recliner reading when I heard a popping sound. I looked at my watch and saw that the crystal had an oval crack running almost completely around the watch face within the circumference of the number markings. I've never heard of that happening before. The crystal must have had a design flaw or have been installed incorrectly.
