I couldn't be more pleased.
Walking on these shoes are like walking on clouds.
I wore them to work for a week where I have a desk job, but took a three quarter mile walk twice a day, and they were always perfect. They always felt great, and never had any wear. No "normal" stress on my back or legs from other shoes with these babies. I didn't have any blisters or aches or anything during the break-in period. They still looked new, even on the bottom.
I took then to Disney World, with no alternate shoes. For the first 2-3 days, the same experience every time I put them on, and throughout the day -- they were like walking on pillows and were incredibly comfortable and never had a complaint. No blisters, and fewer aches and pains than you'd expect being a 6' tall 250 lb man walking around Disney chasing 3 kids. The shoes breathed great, so when they got wet, they dried very quickly.
By about the 5th day, they were clearly wearing down. Several of the treads / cushions / whatever you want to call the circles on the bottom had compressed or worn down almost completely. This made them basically like normal shoes, but with less cushion than you'd expect from walking shoes. They've sat there for 5 days now, and they're not springing back to life, so I think they aren't getting any better.
Let's call mine a worst case scenario. I'm clearly being as tough on walking shoes as you could expect to be. But they lasted less than 2 weeks. If you have the money and plan a hard walking trip of 4-5 days, this might be a disposable pair of shoes. It's hard for me to guess how long they'd last under normal circumstances, but they are a delight while they're in new condition. Personally, I was hoping they'd keep their original performance for a lot longer.
I've got a problem with my achilles tendon that makes the back of my heel very sensitive to pressure (Haglund's deformity) and these shoes feel great!
I generally wear a size 13E (wide) and that's what I bought this time... they fit perfectly.
EDIT: I've had these shoes for 5-6 months, wearing them almost all day, every day. These shoes have contributed immeasurably to the betterment of my heal issue and I can walk normal distances again without limping around for the next few days. I even wear 'em into the office w/ a pair of khakis. Yeah... not as dressy as my Italian dress shoes, but the limp wasn't classy looking either!
The soles have worn out rather quickly, but they are a very soft material which lends to the comfort, so it was to be expected. I'll happily pay the $50-60 every 6 months for the mobility these shoes have given me.
The 3s are comfortable enough for average walking around the house/shopping type days but not for all day walking.
I really wish Skechers would stop with all the stupid GIMMICKY crap (gel, memory foam, etc). The gel explodes after a couple days and the memory foam just flattens and makes your feet much HOTTER. Give me their basic shoes they had a couple years ago. If they keep going with the gimmicks I'll have to find a new brand to wear which is a shame as I've been wearing Skechers for 15+ years now.
