I'm so used to reading about warlocks, vampires, werewolves, demons, etc that books unlike the norm are a breath of fresh air. This one was.
I love the concepts of skeletons and how they come to be.
I love the romance that is woven into this book and even how the skeletons aren't fleshy humans but they still behave like that, e.g. Getting scared when seeing someone you love injured and hurt. They are apart but don't view themselves as immune to human emotions.
I'm looking forward to reading more of the Hollow series and other books by Angela.
The characters are easy to fall in love with although I'll admit that in the beginning Marlow was a bit weak but she gets more confidence and stronger as she accepts and understands her new life. I think she's going to surprise us much more later in the story! I also cannot wait to learn more about them like Cassandra and Conrad.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book!
Marlowe is a young girl and she finds herself led in her despair to a Lake she's never noticed before, she has now decided to end it.
That choice alters her path forever.
This Lake is different, and inside the waters she finds that she is no longer human, she is half of a whole. ... but where did she come from?
Marlowe isn't a strong character, and I didn't see that she grew from cover to cover. It was more interesting to read about the people around her. I did find that parts of the story were slightly confusing. For example, her ex boyfriend- the author goes way out to explain he is a demon and bad news. ...but then never addresses it again.
I would love to see more out of the story.
If you want a paranormal romance which takes you on a different journey of life, because let's face it - what is life, then this is for you.
