The characters kept me intrigued. Dani, Cole, Jaymee (now I've got to get the first book and see how this all started), Grace, that rat, Ben (dirty dancing donkey who gives Southern men a bad name), Jeb, Gina....even Landers...all of the characters kept me at the edge of my seat. One moment, I'd think "well, of course, THAT'S the killer" then the next moment I'd be like "well, maybe it's...."
Ms Green is a master and I'm excited to say that she's in my very short list of favorite writers. It takes a WHOLE LOT to keep my attention. She's exceeded in that task!!! Thank you!!!
I'm also not into "romance" books. I knew some of the overdone great-catch guy & pretty-but-doesn't-know-it girl would be there. That's obvious from the get go. But I wasn't expecting the sex. I was really disappointed that was included because it detracted from a pretty story. Would've been a 4 star book without the foul language & explicit sex. If you don't mind that stuff in your novels you'll enjoy this book.
Another reviewer wrote that they didn't figure out who the murderer was before the end of the book. That's because the author gives you no opportunity to do so. There is absolutely not a single clue anywhere in the book that would allow you to try to figure out who did it. Easy for the author, disappointing to the average mystery fan.
It could have been so much better than it is.

Loved the characters, loved the plot, the twists, the build-up the conclusion. Can't wait to start number 3! Thank you Stacy!
