The characters kept me intrigued. Dani, Cole, Jaymee (now I've got to get the first book and see how this all started), Grace, that rat, Ben (dirty dancing donkey who gives Southern men a bad name), Jeb, Gina....even Landers...all of the characters kept me at the edge of my seat. One moment, I'd think "well, of course, THAT'S the killer" then the next moment I'd be like "well, maybe it's...."
Ms Green is a master and I'm excited to say that she's in my very short list of favorite writers. It takes a WHOLE LOT to keep my attention. She's exceeded in that task!!! Thank you!!!
I'm also not into "romance" books. I knew some of the overdone great-catch guy & pretty-but-doesn't-know-it girl would be there. That's obvious from the get go. But I wasn't expecting the sex. I was really disappointed that was included because it detracted from a pretty story. Would've been a 4 star book without the foul language & explicit sex. If you don't mind that stuff in your novels you'll enjoy this book.
Compelling storyline with plenty of twists to keep the reader guessing. Surprise ending. Believable characters with distinct personalities. Informative and humorous dialogue.
'Every person at the scene wore booties and latex gloves, and Jeb and Billy had donned blue Tyveck suits that made them look like rejects from the Blue-Man Group.'
No desire to re-read this story. I am interested in other works by this author.
