Another enjoyable book in the series. Some interesting character developments and good plot twists. I am looking forward to reading book 4 when it comes out.

I Love the characters, even the somewhat irrational ones. And the mystery is good. Everyone is starting to open up more in this book, about who they are and how they feel. Looking forward to finding out more about all the characters, including Bessie.

Disappointed in book 3.
There was too much romantic angst and not enough of the usual mystery and intrigue. I hope the author goes back to her original formula.

Our heroine gets dragged into an investigation when she finds a body and no one else takes it seriously. But the spirit of the dead won't leave her alone, so she it going to have to take the case.
This is book three of the series but it is written as a standalone. All the essential bits are explained pretty early on, so no worries starting here.
This is a cozy mystery with a touch of magic and a somewhat reluctant witch. The story is well written and easy to read with just the right amount of humor to keep things light. The characters are great and we get to delve into them a bit through the story, giving them a bit of growth which is very nice. The mystery is also engaging and kept me entertained throughout the book. Overall, a very fun read and I look forward to reading more in the series.
Highly recommended.

I love a good cozy paranormal mystery, and this author does write an excellent one. In this book, I really liked how she described the paranormal elements, particularly when our heroine and her friend were out looking in the woods. I could visualize it so perfectly. I love it when an author writes well enough that I can do that. The range of the heroine’s abilities is nifty; what a cool idea, talking with a soul trapped in a crystal. I am a rockhound myself, so I loved the crystal focus of the book. I did have one problem with the book. For me, the mystery doesn't really start until the body drops, and that didn't happen until the 22% point of the book. What went before was certainly fun and occasionally funny, adding to the quirk factor that has to exist in a cozy mystery, but I kept waiting for the mystery to start. Because this is actually a proper novel, not just a novella, even with the late start, the author was able to develop a good mystery with sufficient twists and turns. I also like that we continue to see an evolution in our heroine’s personal life as well. All in all, if you enjoy cozy mysteries, you'll most likely enjoy this book as well as this entire series.

Things are still messed up between Fortuna and Martin and Pepper and Gabe. Two months and they’re still being ghosted! Urg, MEN! Anyway, while Fortuna and Pepper hike out to find the mystic book, on the way back Pepper trips over a dead body. Long story short, spirit trapped in crystal and until the murder is figured out, spirit stays trapped. This dead guy is a piece of work, too. Again, MEN! The police and medical examiner in this town are so corrupt. Good thing Gabe and Ollie decided to do the right thing this time and look into the murder even though it was declared an accident.
So much happened in this story with the relationships and friendships. Magic was abound in this book too! The next book should be really good since more secrets should finally come out.

annoying high maintenance lead characters. if you met someone like that you would run for the hills. they all have a bickering quarreling screaming viscous psychotic even betraying relationship with each other. that's what this book is all about. hardly any story but a therapists wet money dream.
