The relationship between Bruce and Sue is complicated but they make the best of it. Bruce tries to befriend some members of the Skidian upper class but they do not have the capacity to reach out and make the connection. Mr. Fenwick selectively skewers all manners of high society affect with ease. It is an amusing and easy read and I highly recommend it.
A surprisingly good and easy read, Sue P'd me off a few times due to her lack of knowledge about farming, or anything hah! The love scenes were a bit quirky (thats all ill say about that), and the arrogance of the Skidians and how it affected Bruce was pretty comical. Not quite sure if this was sci fi enough for me if that makes sense but It's only the first so am looking forward to reading the second over the long weekend.
Awesome work Keith!
It will go into my fiction library with other compelling books that I like to read repeatedly, as soon as I've forgotten enough of the story to not remember exactly what happens and how it all ends.
Keith Fenwick has done a great job - seems like his first book - and I'm keen to see how this story and his craft evolves. I also bought the second book in the series and found it just as good - and with an even more compelling ending. I'll write that review shortly.
If you read between the lines or look a little deeper into the story it is not far from current happenings today.
The two main characters are easy to relate to for many who would read this book.
And I think that being able to relate to these two makes the the book so engaging and easy to read.
The story also gives you somethings to think about and touches on many of the problems faced in today's world.
Keith has done a marvelous job for his first shot at writing and publishing a book and I am looking forward to what he delivers next.
I was intrigued from the word "go", and as an avid Sci-fi fan found myself absorbed till the end. His social commentary is witty and incisive and makes the reader take a step back to think about the world a little differently.
I'm looking forward to devouring the next books!
