I'm a survivor of a extremely serious motorcycle accident and I credit my relative lack of extreme injury to my wearing a helmet. You owe it to your loved ones to reasonably gear yourself with protective equipment you feel comfortable with. I've worn the carbon fiber helmet and loved it. There's been other times I was glad to have my bulkier Skid Lid on. I also have a Scorpion EXO-1100 Full Face Helmet that I've taken to wearing on the rare occasion I have to face my So Cal commute during the Rush-Hour Rodeo. Wear whatever makes you feel safe; the choice of what that is, is up to you.
Some people will negatively review this because they have "mushroom head" Yeah, I can see that. It's not as bad as some helmets I've owned. However, that doesn't mean it's a bad helmet. Just means some people have a vanity issue. The helmet is light, comfortable, and protective.
If you want a DOT approved minimal helmet, go for this.
If you just want a helmet that looks sleek against your skull, go buy a novelty helmet.
Fit: Shape is an intermediate oval, so make sure you wouldn't be better suited with a round or long-oval shaped helmet. Right out of the box, the lining seems to be well made and is moderately comfortable for what is a fairly heavy helmet. Also the XL runs true to size, manufacturer's sizing chart is accurate. Does it "mushroom"? Well, yes, but with an inch and a half of protective material all the way around, I don't know how a DOT helmet could look otherwise.
Seller: Shipped reasonably fast, only complaint is that the price tag on the helmet was held on with a cheap adhesive; peeling it off made a mess. Not a big deal on a white helmet but would be an eyesore on black. The "Skid Lid" sticker peeled off easily.
As for now i am very delicate with it's handling and very aware of these two spots when i wipe it down... so far there has been no changes to the areas I've mentioned, we'll see what happens throughout the summer. then i may update my review but as of today i like the helmet...

Though they fit they feel like they want to fall off. The straps on the side are uneven and dig into one of my ears. Are not comfortable at all. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Amazon Customer
