Top customer reviews
Get this book if you are confused about all the creams, oils, serums, gels, and various other product put out by the beauty industry and find yourself spending to much money on them.
The quiz told me that I have dry, sensitive, non-pigmented, tight skin, so I skipped through and read about my skin type, amazed that it pinpointed my problems so specifically. I started the suggested skincare regimen, using the least expensive product suggestions, and for the first time in months woke up with comfortable skin - not itchy, not blotchy red, not bumpy, not flaky, not so dry that smiling was painful.
The simple changes to my routine (creamy cleanser instead of a foamy cleanser, cutting out a product that was irritating to my skin type, facial spray before moisturizer) made such a difference for me.
My husband even commented that my skin was "glowing," and in my third pregnancy, I've never been told I was "glowing" before.
I would recommend this book to anyone who feels like their skin doesn't fit the mold of "oily/combination" or "normal/dry" and needs a bit more direction as to how to choose the right products, and what ingredients to look for or avoid for your specific skin type.
I liked whenever she suggested products they were in a range of price points. So many books like this recommend a "cheaper product" that starts at something like $50.00 this book does recommend a good range from drugstore all the way up to high end, so there are choices for every budget. Or for those of us just wanting to try out a skin care routine before investing big bucks. Often there were recommendations for the lower priced items too which was a nice surprise.
A good book if your current skin care routine doesn't seem to be working, you are sure to get some ideas from this that will help.
1.) What Skin type you are.
2.) What products you can use that can be purchased from a local drugs store or something a little more expensive (your choice)
3.) A skin care regimen to follow daily (and if you are using acne medication how to incorporate that into your daily routine)
4.) Ingredients that you should not use for your skin type and information on certain ingredients and what they do for your skin.
Basically, this book offers you step by step directions on how to develop a skin care routine and what products to use to do so. At the end of the day if I had to choose between going to the dermatologist and reading this book I choose the book first. Why, because you will have the basic knowledge needed to fix your skin problems anything beyond trying this you probably would need to then see a dermatologist.
Great Book, Easy solutions.
Thanks for reading my review :)
